~Mabel's P. O. V.~
How freaking cool is this?! I should be scared. He's a wolf after all, but I am just in awe. His fur was super soft. His body was warm. I could easily fall asleep on him. C-Could I ride on him? I wonder what it's like to feel the wind like he does. I closed my eyes and just kept smiling. His nose poked my side. Making me laugh a little.
"Don't do that. I am ticklish." His belly was moving like he was laughing at me. Doing it again. "Stop it." I tried pushing his muzzle away. He touched his nose to my forehead before getting up. I saw him grab his clothes and go behind the curtain.
The sounds of bones breaking and cracking was not something I could get used to. "That went better than I had hoped." He said. Coming out from behind the curtain. God damn he was handsome.
Going over to him, I took one of his hands in mine. "I didn't believe Roxy at all.Werewolves were just stories. Ones I didn't get to read. I heard about them through my maids and butlers." I sighed and looked up at him. "I'm sorry I didn't believe her." His other hand cupped my cheek.
"You don't need to apologize. Humans that aren't our mates don't know we exist. We keep it that way for a reason. We aren't immortal, Mabel. Humans have been known to hunt us in the past. The witch trials started and our ancestors went into hiding. It's been that way ever since." I pulled him over to the blanket inside the gazebo.
Sitting down next to him. "I want to know everything. Not just about you, but werewolves in general. What is it like having 2 souls? Can you turn into half and half? Roxy said that you are an Alpha. What does that entail? Are all wolves that tall?" I had so many questions running in my head.
He had to put his hand on my mouth. "Slow down." Hearing him laugh was like hearing an angel laugh. Heavenly. And I melted at his smile. "It was weird at first. Blake and I have been together since I turned 21. That is when we gain our wolf counterpart." He took his hand off my mouth. "So, not very long. Now I can't imagine losing him. He's me and I am him. Same with Roxy and Rose. Corey and Thunder. Toni and Aquilla. We all have a wolf soul. He or she doesn't manifest until we reach certain ages. For us, it's 21. For a pack in say in New York, they gain their wolves as early as 14 years old." I wanted to ask what mine would be like. But then, maybe I couldn't get one because I am human. Not a werewolf. "As for this half-shifting? No. That's only in Van Helsing and other fantasy novels. We are either all wolf or all man." He opened a bottle of sparkling cider. I got the two glasses. "As an Alpha, my job is to ensure the safety of the pack, pack trades, treaties, background check each rogue we take in." Rogue? I wonder what that is. "And to find my Luna. The Alpha Female. She has separate duties. You can ask my mom about them. I don't fully understand it myself." I scooted closer to him. "As for the height, no. Only high ranking Alpha's get as tall as me." Oh.
You know what I am going to ask. Maybe I can accept that he is my mate. And if so, I should know everything, right? "D-Do I have a wolf spirit?" Oh, there goes my nerves. "You know, since we are mates?"
He gave out a long sigh. "Only if you make the change. I won't lie, Mabel." He made me look up at him. His hand was warm against my cheek. "It will be painful. Very painful. If you choose to go through with it, I will bite you. I have to inject my venom into your neck. Specifically, here." He took a finger and circled where my external jugular vein is. "I won't do it now or any time soon. I want you to adjust to dating me first. If or when you do, I will make sure that you are as comfortable as you can be."
I had to admit, it did frighten me. Just a little. "Well, aside from this lovely date we are on, do you have anymore planned?" It was exciting to be dating someone not exactly human.
I saw him jokingly rub his chin. "I may have a few ideas." Beaming that gorgeous smile again.
I giggled. "Okay, so I have seen Blake. Is he able to speak or is it only like communication through the mind?"
He looked down a little. "Blake... He's been harder to control lately. We are able to share both bodies. He can speak through my voice. When it's him in control, my eyes go black. People have told me that my voice even gains a little of what he would sound like if he were human." Seth stood and leaned on the table. "I don't want to keep secrets from you Mabel. Blake is ruthless on the battlefield. He has killed many wolves." Okay, that is a bit more than scary. "I don't want you to be afraid of me. Or him. You are our mate. We cannot harm you. And neither of us want to hurt you."
I got up and stood next to him. Rubbing my hand on his back. "It is a scary thought. But," He looked at me with worry. "I want to meet Blake too. If I am your mate to you and him, he has a right to meet me too."
He turned to face me. "If he tries to be forceful with you, I will switch him back." I nodded in agreement. "Alright. Be warned. He's a bit aggressive." Again, I nodded. Seth closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them, I had to take a step back. He was not kidding. His eyes turned to coal. "It's been a while since he's given me control of his body." Blake's voice mixed with Seth's. It was freaky. Not in a good way or a bad way. Just freaky. He looked at me. "Mate." He slowly came over to me and held my waist. "Your scent drives me crazy." Burring his nose in my neck.
I had to clear my throat and step out of his embrace. This seemed to hurt him a little. "I am not running, ding-dong." Gently putting my hand on his cheek. "This is incredible. Blake. I'm Mabel." He took my hand off his cheek and kissed it.
"It's a pleasure to meet my future Luna." I don't know what Seth was talking about. He was just a big flirt. "Careful, my sweet. I can smell your arousal." I blushed a lot and looked away. "I am only holding back because you are new to my world. If you had been a wolf from the get-go." He pulled me closer to him and started kissing my neck. Oh, his kisses were making me melt in his arms. "We'd already been mated and I have marked you." He let me go and eyed me up and down. "That damn Eustace. He almost took your beauty away." His hand caressed my cheek. Again, I blushed and smiled. "I love it when you smile, Mabel. It hurt when I saw so much anger the day we crossed paths. Anger and pain. You wanted to be free from him. I saw that and so did Seth." What? How? I was projecting my hate. My inability to love at Eustace. I didn't show empathy. He got on his left knee. "I promise, my mate, my Mabel, that I will do everything I can to protect you. You deserve to be loved and treated with care. If there is anything you want, just name it. We will happily get it for you."
I pulled him up and hugged him. "Thank you, Blake. Thank you, Seth." He hugged me back.
I felt him chuckling. "That asshole wants to switch back." He kissed the top of my head. "Until next time, Mabel." I leaned back a little and saw him close Seth's eyes. When he opened them again, they were back to his really pretty forest green eyes. "That went better than I expected."
I smiled and leaned against his chest. "I don't know what you were talking about. Blake was just a huge flirt. Nothing scary about that." I never wanted this to end. It felt right. Being in his arms. Is it wrong to want to be a wolf now? It sounds amazing. And I could probably kick Eustace's ass if I were one.
He pulled back a little. "You don't know him like I do."
I shook my head. "I may not know the werewolf ways. And I may be punting at slow balls here, but could having me around make him calmer?"
He took a minute to think about that. Closing his eyes again. I could see the arguments going back and forth with his eyes darting. When he opened them back up, he smiled down at me. "Knowing our ways or not, he says that you are correct."
I was happy to know that I can make a big scary wolf seem like a refined gentleman. "I take pride in that. Okay, now if I did choose to be a wolf, what would I have to do?"
He sat us both back on the blanket. "It's a long list. And since you and I are mates, you would have more responsibility than if you were mated to an Omega."
I tilted my head. "Tell me?"
~Seth's P. O. V.~
This is actually going a lot better than expected. What I thought was going to happen, didn't happen at all. I thought she was going to run away and scream at me for being a wolf. Yet, she keeps asking questions. I want to take this slow with her. She just found out tonight. I was telling her about the mating process. Seeing her blush and have some character in her was nice. I know she isn't ready for that, either. She even said that she wanted to be a werewolf. Not just because she wants to be with me, but she wants to make Eutace her enemy in every way possible. If she already had Orchid? Her fangs and claws would be elongated. And she would be growling.
"I didn't have a life." She stood and hit the beam of the portable gazebo. "They kept me hidden for the purpose of what? To be his prize?!" Seeing her angry at him was the sexiest thing ever. "When I get my wolf, I am hunting his ass down."
I stood and made her look at me. "I knew there was a fighter in you." Kissing her cheek. "He also wanted you to bare him pups. I doubt he would have kept you after you birthed him a son." She got out of my hold and looked at me with horror. She scoffed and eyed the empty cider bottle. Seeing her grab it, she goes to where the kids normally don't play. She slams the bottle into the tree and shatters it. Screaming angrily as she continues to break it. I started to smell her blood. Rushing over to her. Her hand was dripping with blood. "May." I tore my shirt and made a makeshift gauze. "I get you're angry. Don't hurt yourself because of it." I was slowly wrapping her hand. "We need to get this washed."
Her foot was thumping hard on the ground. "I'll kill him, Seth. I swear, I'll kill him. And Jackson. He knew, right? He knew who he was giving me to. They don't deserve to live."
I led her away from the broken glass. "If that is what you want, then I won't argue about it." We went back inside. Turning on the hot water from the sink, I had her put her hand under it while I got out the first aid kit. Putting a heavy thing of cotton on the cuts first before applying the gauze.
"Whoa. Why is she bleeding?" Roxy came over to us.
Mabel looked pissed. "Rox? Eustace is mine for the kill."
Roxy's eyes widened and looked back between me and Mabel. "I see. Um... So, you want to make the change, then?" Mabel nodded a lot. "Okay, then. We need to celebrate." I gave her a confused look. "What? She practically said yes to being your mate. That is a cause for celebration."
Toni came rushing in with other forms of first aid kits. "Be that as it may, Roxy, we need to slow down with her. She is still new to this."
Mabel shook her head. "No. I had it slow and easy for most of my life. With the exception of being caged off from the world and having to marry that son of a b***h. I want to take it slow with Seth, but I need everything that you can provide when it comes to werewolves. And I need them quickly."
Corey sighed and leaned against the wall. "We are strongest when we are in our packs. Normally, she-wolves and the pups don't learn how to train with upper warriors. The ranked wolves, however, do. We need to get her started on training, Seth. If she is going to be an effective Luna, she needs to know how to fight."
She leaned against the counter. "Alright. When do we begin?"
I was almost frightened at how well she was taking this. "When you want to, love."
She looked at me. I saw a fire in her eyes that burned with hate. "I am no one's prize just to be tossed out later on. He will know my wrath." When she and Orchid are one, I am definitely not getting on my Luna's bad side.
Toni looked back and forth. "We can start tomorrow, then."
Before any of us could continue our strategy talk, Gorgette and Kristen came running in. "Mabel!" They yelled together. Laughing as they usually do. Both grabbed her legs. "So, you're going to be a wolf like mommy and daddy?" Kirsten asked first. "I want to see your wolf. I bet she'll look really pretty like you." Gorgette smiled widely.
"Girls!" Corey used his Alpha tone. "You're supposed to be in bed."
Kristen looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Sorry, daddy. We heard stuff and we wanted to talk too."
Gorgette was the next to chime in. "Yeah. We heard Luna Mabel accept her title." Corey pinched the bridge of his nose.
Mabel surprised everyone. "It's okay, Alpha Corey. They were curious. Your father is right, though. Your bedtime has been well passed."
They nodded. "Yes, Luna Mabel." I saw her smile at that.
"Good night, girls." She gave them big hugs and kissed them good night. She would make an amazing mother. When she and I are ready for that, of course. They went over to their parents' and went off to bed. "We may want to take this out of their hearing range." We all agreed and stepped outside and into the forest area. But not where the house couldn't be seen. "How do we start?"
Corey was the first to step up. 'First we need to get you proper clothes. Fighting in skinny jeans and flowy shirts isn't realistic. Along with wedges. Proper clothes."
Roxy was next. "Tomorrow, we will hit Lululemon. They usually have good sports clothes."
Toni came up to her and looked at her physique. "We need to put you on a protein diet. You are way too thin, honey." She nodded.
I was the last. "We also need to get you a hair cut. Long hair, even in training, can be detrimental." Again she nodded. "I know that you have taken years to grow your hair to that length." I was even sad that it had to go. She let it down and, wow, she had Rapunzel-like hair. It was well passed her ass.
"On the contrary. I hate it this long." She took a piece of the broken glass and cut her hair in front of us. Making it elbow length. "Thank god this s**t is off." It wasn't even, but it did the trick. "I'll get it styled tomorrow when we are in town."
I took her hair from her. "We will keep this as a momentum of your rebirth."
Toni smiled and went back inside for a few moments. When she came out, she was holding a purple ribbon. Taking the hair, she tied the ribbon into a bow. "There. Purple stands for rejuvenation. New beginings. This is your beginning, Luna."
Mabel beamed and leaned against the tree. "I am tossing my last name aside. I am no longer Mabel Lennon." She stabbed the glass into a tree. "I am Luna Mabel."
I smiled, pulling her to me as I kissed her neck. "Luna Mabel of the Crimson Moon Pack."
Roxy fist bumps the air. "I love how that sounded."
Corey and Toni held each other. "It is fitting. Welcome to what it means to be a werewolf 101, sweetheart. You have just begun"
"Tomorrow, I am making a grand feast. A commencement and a goodbye to the old Mabel." She nodded in agreement.
She surprised us again by turning to me and kissing me on the lips. I wasn't going let this go. Pulling her closer to me. I deepened the kiss. "Whoa. Okay. TMI, brother. See you tomorrow." Roxy laughed and left the area. As did Corey and Toni.
When she parted her lips from mine, she was blushing. "Shall we?" I nodded. We headed to bed early that night. Just cuddling each other. My woman accepted me and Blake. I was happy about that.
