~Roxy's P. O. V.~
I got out from a sleeping Mabel and went to where Alden told me where Seth would be. I found him leaning against the motel we would be staying at for the night. "Seth?" He looked pissed off. His aura exuding itself.
"Give me one damn good reason why I shouldn't declare war on Eustace right now?" Right, he also over heard. I knew it was also partially Blake talking. When both human and wolf talk, our voices mix together.
I sighed and pulled out a cigar for him. "The fact that we have Mabel right now." I looked back at the car. "She was holding heself together during that call. I can see a fighter in her, Seth."
He took the cigar and lit it. Taking a single puff of it, "Blake wants both of their heads. He is getting harder to hold on to." He placed his hand over his forehead.
"I know what you mean. Rose wants to kill Eustace the most." He handed me the rest of this cigar. I took a longer drag of it before letting it go. Werewolves can't get high or sick from this. It doesn't really do anything except make it look like we are good friends talking over a cig. "How are you going to handle it?"
He leaned his had back on the wall, "I don't know. I want to kill both. Jackson for saying what he did and Eustace for telling him about us. I also want to protect her. She's my mate, Rox." I slightly smiled knowing that she wants him too. Mabel will need to trust us before we trust her completely.
"I think she will need time to adjust and trust. She trusted several people, including her father to take care of her. I couldn't imagine the betrayal she felt today." I looked at the time on my phone. Nearly 5 in the afternoon. Are we seriously only halfway there? I thought we could make it.
"We'll stop here for the night. I don't trust drivers at night. They get too chaotic." He stated. On that, I had to agree. "Should we let our wolves out tonight?"
"Yeah. After the humans and Mabel are officially asleep." I saw him look at the car we came in. Only 19 years old, this wasn't fair on her.
"Poochie!" My diver, Carson followed us in another SUV. He was taking Laila for a walk. He kept whistling. She ended up coming over here. I picked her up. "Oh, miss. I am so sorry. She got away from me." I shook my head.
"It's alright. I'll take her from here." Carson bowed to me and left.
"I really need to know why this dog?" I saw Seth go behind a nearby tree and strip. He shifted into Blake. I put Laila down and saw them touch noses. Laila wasn't scared of Blake. I could see a conversation between wolf and dog going on. She whimpered a little. Before too long, Blake went behind the same tree and shift. Seth put on his clothes and came out. "That was interesting." He picked Laila up. "Laila's true name is Yua. Her original family abandoned her in Japan. Then some random people found her, brought her here. She lived with them until they died from a disease. The shelter picked her up and there she waited to die. I told her that Mabel would treat her with care." He paused for a moment, a sadness held in his eyes. "She knows this but," He burried his nose in her furr as he closed his eyes. "Yua is dying. She wants to see the place you discribed before she leaves Mabel in our care." I pet the old dog. A sad story but at least her ending won't be. Now it was my turn. I wanted to talk to her. I too went behind the same tree and took off my clothes. I shifted into Rose. It still hurt but not as badly as my first shift. Rose came to the front of my mind. I felt fur growing, my nails turning into claws and my bones rearranging as my skull remolded into a wolf's head. Rose was a gorgeous dark gray wolf with piercing green eyes. She had a white underbelly and four white paws. Seth put Yua down. Rose and Yua touched noses.
Oh, my. You are just as big as that handsome one, aren't you? I heard the dog's voice. She sounded like an elderly lady. Giving a chuckle.
Yua. Is it true?
I am afraid so, pup. The sweet human that adopted me? I could tell she's been through a lot. We both looked towards Mabel again. I am glad that she is giving this old dog a better happily ever after. Her voice turned soft. Tell her that I am happy. I will die happy. Can you discribe the place again?
Sure. I softly said to her, The meadows there have a beautiful range of flowers. The grass is tall and vibrant. The trees smell like pine. The little brook that runs through the middle keeps the flowers healthy. In the center of it all? A giant maple tree. It never welts.
Yua sighed and gave me a grin, It sounds lovely. Yes, there is where I want to sleep. Undisturbed. I never knew dogs could feel death this way. It made me sad. Please, make sure my human is safe?
I promise, Yua. Rose and her touched noses again. Rose went behind the tree and pushed me to the front of our subconcious. Once I was back in my human form, I put on my clothes. "She wants us to protect Mabel. And to..." I couldn't bring myself to say it. To tell Mabel that Yua will die happy there.
"To..?" Seth questioned. I just shook my head. It's best not to tell Mabel that her dog is dying. Who can handle that?
~Eustace's P. O. V. ~
Curse that Seth! I threw my office into disarry. This article should not have gotten out! Worst of all, Mabel is no where to be found in the city! Jackson has run off, Sylvia threatened divorce and to take back her company. This is all that little whelps fault. How? How could this have happened? No, it's not Seth's fault. It's Mabel's. Had she just been a good girl and kept her mouth shut, I would still have her father under my thumb! My own employees were giving their resignations, 2 week notices, quiting on the spot!
"Sir?" My Beta came into my office. "We have the DNA test you wanted." Great! I snatched the results from his hands.
"She's a Lennon. f**k!" I threw the papers down and huffed. Something else caught my eye from her file. I picked it up. "Well, this is interesting."
"What is it, Alpha?" My Beta asked.
"She's human, but her geneology has a wolf in it. Look." I laid the paper on my desk. It had her ancestor, a great Alpha by the name of Isaac Chauncey. He left his pack when he met his mate. Stories around this man said that he rejected his wolf too. "She's a wolf by blood, yet not." I started laughing. "This is brilliant! When Seth turns her, she'll be full blooded wolf again! I will attack when she makes the change."
"And we can still have her after?" My Beta was just as ruthless as I am. I nodded to him.
"Of course. After she gives me an heir to the pack." He smiled evily at me.
"My mate knows about and our plan. She will make Mabel Lennon her slave." My pack maybe small, but we are strong. I will need to spy on Seth's pack for a while. I have no idea where he took Mabel. But now? I have something I can go on.
"Does every female know?" I needed to know so no one f***s this up.
"Yes." My Beta answered. Good, good. All those rumors about feeling if your mate cheats on you is nothing but an old wives tale.

Oh, my goddess. Did he really just say that? I covered my mouth as I listened to my uncles plan for this Mabel girl. I have to warn The Crimson Moon pack. We knew about her, yes, but a few of us are disgusted by our alpha's behavior. I quickly left the area and shifted into my wolf. We ran for what seemed like hours. Which way was it again? s**t!
I finally found the right scent and followed it, my wolf noticed that we were being surrounded. I stopped us and looked around. Shifting back into my human form. I held up my hands. "Are you The Crimson Moon pack?" I asked.
One man shifted, "We are. Who needs to know?"
"My name is Dane! Dane Waterman. I come to you as an ally." I said.
"Why?" The same man spoke.
"Please. I need to talk to your alpha. It concerns him and his mate." I plead.
"The alpha isn't here. Speak!" Oh, a Beta?! I was forced on my knees.
"My uncle is Alpha Eustace Kuhn." I heard sharp gasps and weapons being drawn. "Please." I beg. "He wants to do something terrible to your future Luna." This stayed their spears.
"Speak." The Beta didn't shout it, but it was still a demand.
"He wants to take her when she turns. You know how vulnerable a person is when they are in the changing phase. I cannot even speak about the horrid I heard him say." The Beta eyed me up and down.
"I see no reason why you would lie." Everyone around me sheathed their blades or turned back into their human forms.
"How old are you Dane?" He asked.
"15. I just gained my wolf." The Beta threw his jacket to me.
"Put that on. A young woman shouldn't show herself." I nodded and put the jacket on. "I am Beta Reed. And these are my warriors." The others had their backs turned. When did they do that? "Come. Tell us everything."
~Mabel's P O. V.~
I woke up gasping for air. I didn't just hear that, did I? Eustace is still looking for me? I felt around my neck. The dream I had, I was naked and collared like some animal. He kept pulling me with him to show me off. I could still feel his touches. Laila stood in front of me, whining. I pulled her into a hug.
*Knock, knock, knock*
"Mabel?! Are you alright?!" It was Seth. I got up and opened the door. The second I did, I pulled him in as I hugged him. I needed him right now. "You're trembling. What happened?"
"A nightmare." I answered. "Eustace, he... He- Oh, god." I felt his body tense up. "It felt so real. I can still feel him."
"Hey, why the noise?" Roxy came up and yawned.
"Go back to bed, Rox. I'll handle this." Seth held me closer as he rubbed my back. She nodded and left us there. "Tell me."
I nodded. We went inside my guest room and I told him everthing from the dream. I told him what my father said when he spoke to my grandparents. I told him everything. "He said he didn't care if Eustace raped me." I broke down. "My own father. And that dream? That nightmare? He did. Over and over. Showing me off to people." Seth picked me up princess style. "Wh-What are you-"
"I am going to go to bed with you. Just sleeping next to you. I promise." He cut me off. Laying down with me, he pulled me close to him. "Breath in, Mabel." I did as he asked. "Let that nightmare become nothing but the past." He still smelled of insence. I let that calm me down. Sleeping, eventually.
~Seth's P. O. V~
I held Mabel closse to me, hearing her breathing softly. Thank goddess she is asleep. Eustace really haunted her tonight. As did Jackson. Yua came up and curled on the other side of her. If Eustace still had her, I am sure that he wouldn't have waited for her to be ready. I hated that old bag of fleas. I had no treaty with him. I had one with Corey and Roxy, of course, why was I at the meeting? I was asked to join them by Alpha Corey. It was a business thing. Jackson's people were moving to my companies and I accepted the invitation to find out why. Never did I expect to meet my mate there. Let alone have her be in a deal to combine the two businesses. I count my blessings that I hold her now.
Blake: What can we do for mate?
Keep her close, buddy.
Blake: Do you think The Mother showed her for a reason?
Are you suggestiong that was a premonition?
Blake: I am not certain. Call your Beta Reed tomorrow. I want to make sure mate is safe when we bring her home. I don't care if you double the gaurds.
You have a point. Get some sleep, Blake. We still have a few days journey. I am taking the long way there. Just to be sure.
Blake: Good idea. He retreated into my mind. I was too wide awake to sleep. Even so, Blake sleeping means that I can get his energy for tomorrow. I want Mabel riding with me. Yua looked up at me and whined. I gently pat her head. She's a good dog. I gently caressed Mabel's cheek. Placing my forehead on hers. I promise I will never let that sadistic bastard come near you again. My pack, my family will protect you. Moon Goddess? If you are listening, how do I help her?
I am here, my son. A gentle voice spoke inside my head, Only she can choose to accept your wolf.
If she does?
Then, she becomes one of the greatest leaders your pack has known. Her wolf will be a special one.
A blessed?
No, but rare none the less. Her bloodline sees to that.
Her bloodline? Who is she?
Do you remember Isaac Chauncey?
The wolf who rejected his wolf?
The very same. She is of his blood. I have waited for her.
What do you mean?
Seth, what I am about to reveal can only stay between us. My subconscious was being pulled from my body. I couldn't breathe for a moment. I couldn't see either. That is until a blinding white light shone. The moon goddess stood before me. I knelt to her.
"Seth." Her voice was just as beautiful outside of my head. "Mabel Lennon is the great-great-great-great granddaughter of Isaac Chauncey." She stated. "Eustace learned of this. Isaac Chauncey was a blessed wolf." I lifted my head to look at her. "I aided his wolf by blessing him with powers. After the war. He rejected those gifts. Then, he found his mate. Isaac was afraid of rejection just like you, so instead, he killed a part of himself to be with her." I couldn't imagine losing Blake. It sounded horrible. "I waited for the first girl in her father's bloodline to be born. I vowed that I would make things right and put that blood back to where it belongs. In werewolf kind. She may not be blessed, but she will still be of rare DNA." This was a lot to process.
"So, because he rejected his wolf, Isaac became human?"
"Yes. He broke the line of wolves for his family. I hope that Mabel can put it together with your help."
"How?" I asked her.
"Follow your heart. And if you want to know, I can show you her wolf if she makes the transformation." I really wanted to. It would help Blake. I nodded. The Moon Goddess waved her hand once. An image of a wolf started to form before me. The light in this area let me see her. When it was finished, I heard her heartbeat. My jaw dropped.
"A cream wolf with a pure white underbelly? Her socks are also white." I asked.
"Yes, she will have violet eyes. Remember, this stays between us. You are not allowed to tell her that you know anything about her family." She firmly ordered me. It wasn't a demand, in fact there was a gentleness in her voice too.
"I understand, Moon Goddess." I knelt again to her. "Am I allowed to know her name?"
"Seth Darrek Lakeland, you ask for more?" She smiled as she playfully scolded me. "Very well. I can't say no to you." She crossed her arms. "If Mabel so chooses this path, her wolf's name will be Orchid." Orchid. That's a beautiful name. "But she still has to choose it. You know I am a being of free will."
"Yes, Moon Goddess." She chuckled.
"Fair thee well, my son. I am sure we will meet again." She waved her hand, just like before, I couldn't breath. I couldn't see or move. Until I felt someone in my arms. I opened my eyes and saw Mabel still sleeping. I looked at the clock as it read 5 in the morning. I figured we could leave at anytime. I will have my people wait until Mabel wants to go. She needs rest. Thank you Moon Goddess, for the gifts you have shared with me. I know when Blake wakes up, he will see her too. And get jealous that I saw his mate first. I snuggled closer to her. Letting her Blueberry muffin and honey sent wash over me. This woman I hold in my arms is all that matters to me now. I kissed the top of her head.
"Sleep well, Mabel." I whispered. Things are going to be better for her. I'll make sure of it.
