Elaine gave a wry chuckle. “For sure. Plus, we have a ton of halfway finished projects over at our house. Red always seems to have something come up when it’s time to work on them.”
Myrtle felt more cheerful about her account then. “Then it’s good I had Flint come take care of it.”
Elaine said, “I was wondering if you wanted to go to the duck pond with Jack and me to feed the ducks. I figure you could probably use a break from the case.”
Elaine knew her mother-in-law well. Not only was Myrtle working hard on figuring out the same case Red was working on, but she did need a bit of a break. Not necessarily from the case itself, but from thinking about it. It was fairly making her head spin, considering all the different possibilities. Perhaps a short break would help her make sense of it
