Chapter 7 - Earning her trust

Logan’s POV

My heart broke watching my mate scramble back into the corner of the room.  What had she been through to be this scared?  I hadn’t made any progress finding out who she was today but she did take a shower and ate two decent meals so I felt it was somewhat a success.  Dr. James had suggested we put a sedative in her night meal so she could sleep and I would be able to move her to the bed to sleep.  I didn’t like the idea of drugging her but she was so scared I didn't feel there was any alternative.  Angela spent the day in my office but out of site.  After we knew my mate was asleep we had a chance to chat.  I didn't want to risk my mate getting scared during the day so we kept quiet.

I let out a growl that even scared Angela.  “Logan, it's okay, it's going to take time,” Angela said.  “Angela I can’t stand this not knowing what happened or who she is forsure”  I replied frustrated.  “It know Logan but we can’t rush her”.  Angela do you mind waiting for her and watching her for I need to check on everyone”.  “No problem Logan, just move her to the bed and I'll hide in the corner until you get back”.  “Thanks” I said and quietly moved my mate to the bed and tucked her in and left to check on the pack.  

After I made my rounds I went back to my room and Angela headed out.  “I'll check on you guys in the morning”.  I nodded as Angela left.  I quietly got ready for bed and crawled in beside my mate, I desperately wanted to hold her but I held back.

The next morning went basically the same as the previous one.  Angela came and hung out for the day again just in case.  My mate followed the same routine as the day before so I followed the same too.  The next day was the same, by the end of the day I was frustrated.  Angela excused herself and came back an hour later with Dr. James.  I looked at them both as they sat down in front of me.  “Logan we need to make a plan to get her to trust you”  Angela said.  “What do you suggest?” I asked looking at them both.  “Dr James and I talked a bit and we want to try small steps starting tomorrow, it will still take time but I'll be here in case something goes wrong”  Angela explained.  The three of us sat down and started a plan for the next day and the days that followed.

The next morning I followed the same routine as the days before, as soon as my mate woke up she scrambled back to her corner to watch me.  After a little bit I took two trays of food and entered the room.  I placed her tray in the middle and took my tray and sat on the floor against the opposite wall and waited.  My mate waited about 10 minutes but she finally crawled over and dragged the tray to her corner.  As she ate I ate too.  When she paused I took the opportunity to talk quietly, I told her about the pack and where we were located and how many pack members we had.  Once she finished her food she fell asleep likely she had the days before.  I quietly removed her tray and let her sleep.  We did the same at dinner and for the next three days after.  

A week had passed and it was the same routine, but she was coming a little closer every time.  That day I put both trays on the breakfast table in my room and after a few minutes she came and sat down at the table.  Once she finished her food she didn't go to the corner she went and laid down in the bed.  I couldn't stop grinning and Angela glazed around the door frame and smiled.  This continued for the next three days, three seemed to be her magic number.  On the third night at dinner i was doing my usual rambling on when I sudden heard her speak “Leah” I thought I was imagining it, her voice was soft and just as beautiful as she was “Im sorry?” I said feeling stupid.  “My name is Leah” I smiled at her so happy to finally know her name.  “Your an Alpha right?” she asked.  “Yes Im Alpha Logan of the Eclipse Pack”.  She nodded and walked off to the bed and went to sleep.  I was stunned I didn't know what to make of this.  Once I was sure she was asleep I went into my office and Angela hugged me “Oh my goddess this is huge”, “Dont get to excited you might wake her Angela”.  I sat down and put my head in my heads.  “What's wrong Logan?” Angela asked.  “She’s exactly who Charles thinks she is Angela” I said.  Angela just gave me a hug.  “I can’t understand what happened to her or why it isn’t fair”.  “Logan you will know more in time just be patient” Angela said as she kissed the top of me head and left my office.  Again I didn't know whether she knew something or not, Angela was always a mystery in how she spoke.  

I decided to call Charles and update him before heading to bed.
