As soon as Micheal left for work, I tidied the house, cleaned up, and had a light breakfast. I had settled down with my laptop to participate in a virtual meeting and afterward, I worked on a project whose deadline was around the corner, after some hours of working with a lot of progress I emailed my part of the work to my colleagues while they sent there’s, I decided to have a break to continue later.
Last night was more blissful than I had thought it would ever be. Meeting Angela Nicholas's girlfriend and her adorable baby, who was my therapist some weeks back, to meeting Felicia and her boyfriend who I have been shamelessly trying to avoid at the entrance of Nicholas’s building, reconcile with her and she promised me and Angela a free spa day.
Felicia gave me a free spa day was one thing I didn’t see coming, I was totally shocked.
On our way home last night Micheal had said “An enemy can become a friend. A person who makes you upset now can definitely make you happy later”
And that was ultimately true, only her promise made me so happy even when she had not done it yet for me.
The six of us conversations last night were like we were old-time friends and we all had something in common, Angela and Felicia's job has this tranquility and serenity it brings to people’s hearts. Angela rejuvenates the mind while the other does it to the body.
I work for a tech company from home while Nicholas is the boss of his gaming company so that enables him to be in charge from anywhere he is.
Micheal and James both work for a construction company.
Plus we all live near each other. Angela lives just two streets away from me and Felicia’s place
In just one night we had found out about this, what if we hung out often we would find out more about ourselves, and that is why Felicia and Angela had decided to hang out at my place this afternoon, the both of them had decided to take a day off from work.
I had heard a knock on the door
“Am coming” I shouted
it must be the pizza I’d ordered because the ladies had said they were coming by 1:30, I looked up at the time it was just 1:10. I peeped into the door hole, it was Felicia
“Hey girl,” I said after opening the door then embraced each other
“Hi my love”
“Please come in” I ushered her in
“Thank you”
“I bought wine,” she said waving the drink at me
“Thank you, that's so thoughtful of you,” I said collecting the drink from her
“Have a seat” I said pointing at the chair while I sat beside her.
“How are you today and Mr Macaulay” she said placing her bag beside her
“Am very fine and Micheal has resumed work, he was on leave before, how are you too”
“Am fine thank you”
“You are early, but thank God I was ready”
“Am sorry, I couldn’t wait to be here. The spa takes most of my time and makes me busy, today that I’d decided not to go after finishing what I was doing at home, I was so bored”
“Okay I get you, it seems you are so attached to your place of work”
“You can say that again, I do not even have time to do other things, have soaked myself into the business, no friends at all”
“Same here, with all the freedom that I have with my job, I still end up not doing much. But we have one another now you know”
“It's my pleasure am so happy,” she said giggling
“Am also excited, Angela should be here anytime soon I texted her the address some hours ago
“Okay”
“Let me get you a cup from the kitchen,” I said standing up
“I think someone is at the door” she beckoned on me
“Okay, let me check,” I said placing the cups on the table
“It was the pizza man,” I said placing the delivery on the table
“I see”
“Let me pour you a drink”
“I think there is someone at the door again, let me help you,” she said walking to the door
“That must be Angela now”
“Hello,” Felicia said hugging Angela
“Welcome pretty lady”
“Hi, how are you guys doing”
“We are good, Felicia have been here for about twenty minutes,” I said handing over the glass of wine to them
“This wine is so nice,” Angela said sipping from the cup
“Felicia brought it along with her,” I said
“I love it”
“James bought it, he has a good taste of wine”
“Talking about James, was he the one that broke your heart and returned,” I said crossing my legs
“No he wasn’t the one, i met James a few months ago, he is nothing like my ex Tony. We were in a relationship for 12 years and he never proposed to me, I was already getting tired of him until I caught him cheating on me with his assistant he was even engaged to her”
“Wow! That's very disheartening” Angela said placing her palm on her chest
“Yeah it is, ask so sorry sweetheart,” I said with pity on my face
“Ooh stop it! There is nothing to be sorry about, am so much better now. James is ten times the man I wanted Tony to be, I do not have to tell him how to treat him and he is so gentle with me” she said beaming
“He sounds like the man of your dreams,” I said
“That's good for you dear, am also very much pleased with Nicholas. He is playful, knows what to say to lighten my mood, and very supportive. I just love that man”
“If there is one thing you need to know about Nick is that he loves passionately with all his body and soul, take it from me”
“I heard when you guys said he moved down here just for Angela”
“Yes he did, although I tried to talk him out of it but he refused”
“Girl, you are taken already,” Felicia said happily
“She is since you guys are talking about your partners, I just want to remind you, ladies, that I have a hot, nerdy spouse,” I said laughing
“You got it all, five years of marriage and still very much in love, I seriously want that for myself,” Angela said
“I want it badly for myself also,” She said sipping her wine
“Am not tryna make you ladies feel some type of way, but I strongly believe you ladies are with the right guys”
“Lord we pray,” Angela said laughing
“what about little Jessie, I hope she is doing fine”
“Yeah she is, I left her with the nanny at home”
“Tell her Aunty Bridgett is saying hi and I love her”
“I will”
“My regards too, so what day should we fix going to the spa”
“Wednesday will be nice or what do you guys think,” Felicia said
“Totally fine by me,” I said and Angela agreed
“This pizza is still here guys, we haven’t eaten at it yet,” Felicia said opening the pizza on the table
