Chapter five

Micheal and I have decided to do some grocery shopping at the mall today.

Have been out mostly these past few days. We’ve gone to the cinema a few times outdoors and indoors, we eat out most times, and go out for walks in the evening.

Micheal went to the saloon with me a few days ago he had asked me to put a little color on my hair, have always worn my hair black, i pondered on it and I eventually asked the hairstylist to dye my hair blond and then left the room dark. I love the outcome, it was refreshing and a new experience.

For the past weeks, he has made it his ultimate goal to make me extremely happy. He took three weeks' leave from work, I wonder what his excuse was. When I asked him, his reason was to rekindle our love and it was worth it. Most times I wonder how lucky I am to have met him at a young age without kissing much frog, he is just so perfect for me.

One of the reasons I got depressed was because I thought I was losing him to another. He was away for months, that was the longest of his travels, I almost lost myself. I can not imagine him holding or kissing another woman apart from me it could kill me.

We were coming out of the shopping mall entrance when We bumped into Felicia. She was one of the few neighbors Micheal had had an altercation with and wouldn’t even take twenty-four hours sometimes to settle with them.

Felicia has a dog that poops in our front yard whenever Felicia is taking him for a walk, it just didn’t happen once but on different occasions. I do not know if the dog purposely comes to our place to do it. But one particular day Micheal couldn’t take it anymore, he confronted Felicia and they had heated arguments while I watched from afar. I was so pissed at the fact that she couldn’t apologize and she was claiming unnecessary rights, I was so angry and I didn’t say hello to her anymore even if she does I wouldn’t answer her.

A few weeks later, I saw them talking and exchanging pleasantries with one another, I thought my mind was playing, but I shook it off, not until one day I was about to come out of the house and he was already out, i heard him shout “good-day Miss Felicia”. I was shocked because after they had their disagreement he had promised not to ever talk to her again and if her dog continued messing up his place he was going to report it to the police.

Apparently, Felicia had apologized to him, saying she had just had her heart broken by her boyfriend and why the confrontation didn’t go well with her When I asked him how they reconciled.

Have been avoiding her ever since then but today she is walking right into us.

“Hi Mr and Mrs Macaulay”

“Hello neighbor,” Micheal said

“Hello, Felicia, and how are you today?” I said smiling sheepishly, curling my hands around him

“Am fine thank you, I hope you guys are doing well” she asked

“Yes we are” Micheal said with a thumbs up with his left free hand

“I should get going I want to get a few things at the mall, you guys should have a good day, bye” she walked passed us to get into the mall

“Bye” we both chorused

We crossed the road we did not need to take our car along because the mall was just a stone's throw from the house. That is one of the things am so grateful for about our house, even the gas station is not far from us.

“Do you know it was very awkward talking to Felicia?” I said

“But why”

“Are you saying you don’t know I don’t talk to her after the disagreement you guys had and then you guys settled when I was still fighting her in my spirit, you always throw me under the bus, is it because I love you?” I said feigning to be unhappy

“Am sorry babe” he said as he held my hands, turning to face me to face him. “I didn’t mean to paint you the devil,” he said attempting to kiss me

“Ooh stop you know we are outside”

“Since when are you scared of public displays of affection”

“Not too long,” I said while I raised my lips to his briefly and walked past him

He smiled and tried to catch up with me playfully “Did you just do that to me it was my kiss attempt how dare you steal it”

We ran almost barging into the couple coming in our direction.
