Thank you for reading Defy The Dead, I hope you enjoyed it and the complete Necromancer Council series. This has been a series I've been planning for a long time and it's strange to think that it's over.
Cissy has been a difficult character to write at times, even if it has been cathartic at the same time. I didn't originally plan for her to be suffering from the trauma that she was, but after the events of Blood and Deceit, it became clear that's what I was dealing with. Once I started writing Wake The Dead, it turned into something more. I wanted to show a heroine who was dealing with her trauma, but wasn't healed just because she met someone, but also wasn't weak because of it.
