817 Words
As the sun began to set on the castle grounds, Princess Athena found herself in a state of panic. She knew that she had to escape, and quickly, before she was married off to the wicked Prince Tarsen. With the help of her loyal handmaiden, Arabella, she devised a plan to slip out of the castle undetected. "Princess Athena, we must hurry," Arabella urged, her voice filled with urgency. "We cannot let Prince Tarsen catch wind of our escape." Princess Athena nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that if they were caught, there would be dire consequences. Together, they crept through the corridors of the castle, their footsteps soft and silent. As they approached the main gate, they encountered a mysterious man lurking in the shadows. "Who goes there?" Princess Athena called out, her voice trembling slightly. The mysterious man stepped forward, his face obscured by the hood of his cloak. "Fear not, princess. I mean you no harm," he reassured her. Princess Athena hesitated, unsure if she could trust this stranger. But something in his eyes told her that he was on their side. "What is your name?" she asked. The man hesitated, as if debating whether or not to reveal his true identity. Finally, he spoke. "My name is Calex." Arabella raised an eyebrow. "Calex? What brings you to the castle at this hour?" Calex sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. "I have my reasons, but they are not important now. Princess Athena, you must trust me if you wish to escape." Princess Athena looked into Calex’s eyes, searching for any sign of deceit. She regretted that she didn’t trust Calex who served them loyally. She’s ashamed now that she chose the mysterious man over her most trusted friend Calex. She was fooled by the mysterious man and has fallen to his dangerous trap. Prince Tarsen is a wicked man. He planned evilly to trick Princess Athena and the Kingdom. Thanks God, Calex is there that is always ready to serve her. “Don’t worry Princess Athena, I didn’t hold grudges about what happened to us yesterday. I just want to clear my name and prove my sincerity in you and to your Kingdom.” Princess Athena is speechless. She look at Calex to find it’s sincerity. But all she saw was a steely determination that matched her own. "I owe you an apology for my wrong decision. I just protected my Kingdom. The evidence planted was so deceiving. That man really wanted to invade our Kingdom through me. “An apology accepted, Princess Athena. What is important now is to escape from Prince Tarsen’s territory. “Very well. Please lead the way, Calex." Athena agreed. With Calex at their side, Princess Athena and Arabella slipped through the main gate and out into the darkening night. They knew that their journey would be fraught with danger, but they were determined to reach safety at all costs. As they made their way through the forest, Calex suddenly spoke up. "There is a hidden path that will lead us to safety, but we must tread carefully. The terrain is treacherous." Princess Athena nodded, her heart racing with excitement. She knew that they were one step closer to freedom, thanks to Calex’s guidance. As they navigated through the dense undergrowth, the sound of running water reached their ears. "There it is," Calex said, pointing towards a shimmering stream. "Once we cross that, we will be out of Prince Tarsen's reach." Princess Athena felt a surge of hope as they approached the stream. With Calex’s help, they crossed the rushing waters safely, the cool mist refreshing their tired bodies. As they emerged on the other side, they saw a glimmer of light in the distance. "That must be the village," Arabella said, her eyes wide with wonder. "We are almost there, Princess Athena." With renewed determination, they began the final stretch of their journey. As they entered the village, they were greeted by the warm glow of lanterns and the murmur of voices. "We made it," Princess Athena breathed, her heart soaring with relief. "Thank you, Calex. We could not have done it without you." Calex smiled, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. "It was my pleasure, Princess Athena. Now, you are free to live your life on your own terms." And with that, Princess Athena knew that her adventures were only just beginning. With Arabella by her side, and the mysterious Calex as their new ally, she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As they walked into the village, the night sky above twinkling with stars, Princess Athena felt a sense of peace wash over her. She was no longer a captive in her own palace. She was a free woman, ready to embrace the unknown with open arms. And with her newfound allies at her side, she knew that anything was possible.
