Watching his new partner eat, Alex recognized Manuel had begun to relax. He wasn’t sure if that was good or not. Maybe I shouldn’t let him get too comfortable. I still don’t plan to make a lifetime partnership out of this, perish the thought. However, as he wolfed down the spicy enchiladas, an unexpected ease stole over him, too. The past three years he’d begun to like Mexican food, at least the Sonora-style dishes served along the Arizona and New Mexico borders.
