The General

Hex took a shuttle from his ship and landed on a dark planet where the sun never reached the surface. Tres-2b to be exact, he landed on a desolate plain and got out of the shuttle without life support it`s not like he needed it, that guy could survive anything although he did pull out a night vision goggles combined with pieces of binocular equipment allowing him to see further. He looked left and right until a bright light almost blinded him because of the night vision that he put on. “Huh…” he chuckled as he moved toward the light.     The planet was surprisingly interesting it had hills and mountains, holes and flat plains just like any other normal planet, the only thing was you couldn`t see anything unless equipped with night vision, and the atmosphere was so thick that the sun never shone on the surface it was constantly night, a perfect place to hide something or somebody. As he was approaching the light source it was more and more clear it wasn`t just one light but many of them. It was a facility located right in front of a cliff allowing it more defensive options. The facility was guarded by a lot of guards, fences, and such but what Hex didn`t account for was the sensors that were activated around the perimeter of the facility, he triggered one of them and to shock to the guards they didn`t expect it either it wasn`t that it happens every day, nobody steps on this planet anyhow they dismissed it as some kind of anomaly and didn`t bat an eye but they should have.     Hex used the teleportation bracelet and teleported inside a nice and tidy office with a portrait on the wall a face that Hex knew very well, he sat on the leather sofa and waited in the darkness. The door opened with light rays piercing shyly inside the office then a shadow, the door opened fully and a figure dressed in a gray uniform with a red beret, black boots, gray cape, and an eye patch walked inside.         “Nice place you`ve got here,” said Hex scaring the general.                                   “Who are you?” he reached for the gun.                                                                 “That isn`t going to help, the only thing that can kill me is in my possession,” said Hex as he stood up from the sofa. “You don`t remember me, but I do…” Hex looked at him. “Why would a general bother himself of remembering the identity of a simple soldier after all?” Hex asked him as the general starred at him angrily his hand still ready for the gun. “Perhaps this may help,” Hex pulled a vial with green liquid inside and placed it on the table. “The only survived product of your experiments in the flesh, I shouldn`t say only seeing as you took it yourself and you are still alive after all these years,” he smiled.                                                                                                                              “Hex…” remembered the general.                                                                               “Ta…da!!!” Hex clapped his hands. Now it was clear it was the same general on the video that Joe had filmed, the video where they launch the R-bomb on the reptiles, the soldier that was so concerned to get back to his family he didn`t care that the bomb was dropped, that soldier was Hex all along, it was Hex that walked beside Joe it was Hex who just wanted to see his family.                                                                            “How can I not remember you, you were a disgrace to our civilization, you turned your back in the middle of a war, you and your followers,” Hex looked away, his body was boiling with anger wishing that he could end the general`s life right here and right now.                         “A war that you started and we tried to end,” he spoke back at the general instead what did it do?” Hex moved closely. “You know the things that you have done, you ruined my life, you took everything away from me, just because your hunger wasn`t satisfied with being the emperor of a planet. And where did It bring you? The reptilians and our planet are gone our civilization scattered. We used to be an empire, nobody could stand in our way, but we fell just like that,” Hex snapped his fingers. “All of it because of your decisions and actions, what are you doing? Hiding like a coward, where is the general that was going to conquer an entire galaxy? Tons of lives ruined because of your ambitions, but no more,” Hex moved his head left to right. “That empire will rise again with me as the leader and you… well you as my servant,” Hex unsheathed the blade and instantly stabbed the general a deadly stab so much so that the general couldn`t even let a scream out. Hex picked up the generals dead body and activated the teleportation bracelet that teleported him right next to the shuttle, he entered inside and launched toward the ship.     Hex injected the general with the same green liquid that he injects everybody and instantly the general gasped for breath as he lifted himself from the bed and looked around. “Wakey, wakey,” smiled Hex. The general sprang up, but as soon as Hex looked at his face a bunch of visions flashed in front of his eyes, visions of how his family died. “Come on let`s cover your ugly face,” Hex placed a mask on his face so that he wouldn`t get the visions every time he looks at him, the general didn`t even protest. “I think I`ll just call you ‘Guard’ how`s that sound? You will be guarding my back wherever we go,” the general remained silent as Hex tapped him on the shoulder. “That`s a good lad.”     Both of them walked on the bridge as Hex started pressing buttons on the console and the ship made some sounds it seemed it was gathering energy or powering up some kind of a weapon. “With the press of this button, this planet and everything with it will be obliterated,” Hex pointed toward Tres-2b. “Now I want you to have the honors, come on,” he moved away from the console as the guard walked toward it. “Press it.”                                                                                                                            “Yes… master…” the Guard pressed the button and a giant flickering ball flew toward the planet. Tres-2b saw the light of day for the first and the last time in its existence because as soon as the bomb landed the surface ruptured down to the very core of the planet leaving only small debris floating in space.                                                                                                             “Now everybody will witness the power of the once-great empire,” said Hex proudly.
