Chapter Nine

For a while, Mina thought she had finally found her place.

The international school gave her a fresh start.

The classes were small. The teachers were supportive. The resources were better than anything she had experienced before.

For the first time, she felt like she was somewhere special.

But as the months passed, another conversation began happening at home.

Her parents started thinking about her future.

They weighed the options carefully.

Should Mina remain at the international school?

Or should she attend Jersoy High School?

Jersoy was one of the most respected public schools in the country. It had a reputation for producing students who were confident, disciplined, and prepared for the world.

It wasn’t just about academics.

It was about character.

And that was something Mina’s parents valued.

They had noticed that although Mina was hardworking and intelligent, she still struggled with confidence. She was still the girl who hesitated before speaking, who avoided attention, who often doubted herself.

They wondered if a different environment could help her grow.

There was also another concern.

The food at the international school was amazing.

Almost too amazing.

Mina enjoyed every meal, and without realizing it, she was gaining more weight.

Her parents noticed.

They didn’t want her to feel bad about herself, but they also wanted her to develop healthier habits and become more active.

After discussing it, they decided to ask for advice.

They spoke to the Headmaster of Mina’s Junior High School.

He knew Mina well.

He knew her abilities.

He knew her personality.

And when they asked him what he thought, he believed Jersoy would be the better choice.

According to him, Mina needed an environment that would challenge her.

An environment that would push her out of her comfort zone.

Hearing that made Mina think.

Maybe he was right.

Maybe Jersoy could help her become the person she wanted to be.

Someone confident.

Someone who could speak without fear.

Someone who wasn’t always hiding.

So the plan was made.

Mina would finish her exams at the international school first.

Then she would report to Jersoy.

If she didn’t like it, she could always return.

It wasn’t supposed to be a permanent goodbye.

But things didn’t go as planned.

On the reopening day, Mina’s father went to Jersoy to complete her registration.

Then came the unexpected news.

Mina needed to be there herself.

The school was too far for her father to simply go back and forth.

There was no choice.

Mina had to leave immediately.

She didn’t get to finish her exams at the international school.

She didn’t get the proper goodbye she imagined.

One moment, she was a student there.

The next, she was moving on.

Leaving behind the place where she had finally started building a new version of herself.

As Mina packed her things, she felt a strange mix of emotions.

Excitement.

Fear.

Uncertainty.

She was stepping into a new world.

And once again…

She would have to start over.
