Evelyn thought silence would protect her in my car.
Cute.
All it did was make me want to ruin it.
I enjoyed the look on her face when her mum compelled her to follow me.
“Happy now?” She gritted to me, stomping till she got into my car.
She definitely didn't know how I found that really sexy, watching her sway her hips in a way that made my blood itch.
I glanced at her quiet self beside me. She sat rigidly in the passenger seat, arms folded, face turned towards the window as if the trees outside were more interesting than me.
“You've been quiet for the last five minutes. That's not like you.”
She still didn't say anything. I let her have her silence for a while. She needed it.
Then I spoke, trying again.
“You shouldn't let him treat you like that.”
