Preparing The Foundation Party

So today was the so called foundation party . I didn't even understand why all these people were so excited for a foundation party . I do respect our history and culture so I understand the emotions behind it but still does it have to so extravagant where people dressed up way nicer , talking in a polite manner like we didn't know them really and don't even get me start on the constant music..
But for whatever it's worth there was a tradition that each family will prepare a signature dish of their own and bring it to the party .
