CHAPTER TWO
ALPHA DENARIUS’S POV
“Tell me why you are here?” I asked with anger evident in my voice as I squeezed his bare neck. His silence only got me angry, I hated it when I requested something and the person wasn't willing to answer.
“Lock him up,” I ordered the guard who was shivering in fear after witnessing the gruesome event. This wasn’t what I wanted, the person had pushed me too far. He was too arrogant, getting me pissed in the process.
“Find out who sent him, he refused to talk,” I said to Evander who was my beta. “You killed him?” He asked with a raised voice, turning to face him. I gave him a warning stare before walking off.
No one dared question my decision, he only went free because he was my friend. He was there when I was alone, the least I could do was spare him.
Getting to my chambers, I closed the door and gently took off my attire. This was my life for the past few years, there wasn’t any eventful day. It has always been boring except in a few cases. I stood as I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
The man they called Alpha Denarius. Rumors had perked my ears till I had heard enough, I knew many considered me to be brutal. Everyone’s lips tremble just by saying my name, I had created that fear in them.
I was a ruthless man who didn't care about how much blood spilled on me, I was going to get revenge. No one dares me and goes Scott free.
Deep down I yearned for attention. I loved being the center of attention, all eyes on me. Everything should revolve around me, that was what I wanted.
Taking my bath, I dressed in my robe as I started settling some cases. The door opened, and I decided not to look at who it was as I already knew the person. “I understand your yearn for revenge but it shouldn’t be like this,” Evander started saying but I shut him up.
Being a man of few words, I felt disturbed by him. “I don’t care what happens, I will take my revenge,” I said with a firm voice. “I also want revenge but you can’t keep doing this, you know these people will never say a word. They had sworn an oath of secrecy.” He said angrily, making me wriggle my face to show my annoyance.
“I don’t want to know, leave my room now!” I growled, noticing my rage about to be set loose. Evander shut the door angrily. I needed to be away from everyone, changing to my wolf form. I jumped down, landing on my paws. I began racing down the hill.
Feeling overwhelmed, the cold breeze touching my fur had managed to lighten my mood. Resting by a tree, my mind wandered to how everything had started. Still, deep in thought, I heard feet scurrying in my direction.
Standing on my paws, I put up that aura. The aura was enough to send anyone bowing below my feet. A tiny frame appeared as I looked at her with my crystal blue eyes.
“What was happening?” I asked myself, my normal self would have been devouring her already. Looking into her eyes, I saw a mesmerized look as she stared at me, mouth agape. Looking at her, I noticed she wasn’t a human.
Seeing my sharp canines, she panicked and started racing along the forest pathway. Deciding to have fun, I chased her without any intention of hurting her.
Seeing her trip made me chuckle as I walked closer to her. Hearing her talk, I felt confused. She was a werewolf? Why didn’t she change then? Taking my nose to her body, I sniffed it trying to find out if she was lying. I didn’t notice any wolf in her. Why was she lying?
Turning my back against her, I headed to the pack house with her image vividly clear in my head. Questions ran through my mind with no answers, I contemplated going back and asking her those questions but I was sure she would have run off by now.
Getting to the pack house, I grabbed a pipe and puffed out slowly. Having serious insomnia, I rarely sleep which made me aware of everything happening in my pack.
The hooting of the birds showed the presence of the early morning hour. A maid appeared with my favorite couple, I noticed her trying not to cough.
“Drop it and leave,” I ordered and she did as she was told before scurrying away. Ruffling my hair, I felt exhausted. Dark circles around my eyes were becoming evident.
Day by day, I had used several drugs but they were all futile. “The drug didn’t work!” I heard Evander’s loud voice. Showing him the empty bottle which contained the drug, he sighed.
“Search around for an efficient doctor that can get the cure, not this nonsense!” I shouted frustratedly as I slammed the bottle against the wall. Evander ignored me and walked out of the room as I prepared for work.
I had a business firm that was the best in Florida, grabbing my car keys I got into the car and zoomed off. Humans were quite gullible, it wasn’t hard for me to change my name and claim praise, especially with my looks.
“Good morning sir,” I heard several greetings as I took long strides to my office ignoring everyone. Not like I wanted to ignore them, I hated speaking and couldn’t afford to waste my time greeting some bunch of lazy work humans.
“Good morning boss.” I heard my secretary say as she immediately shoved her box of makeup away. Giving her a hard glare, I got into my office and started my work for the day. “Sir, I received a letter for you.” I heard my secretary say as she dropped the letter and left.
Opening the letter, I scoffed angrily. “Your secret will be exposed soon!” I read out.
