2 - Awake

The little bug on the wooden surface rests peacefully, with a girl that stood behind it dressed in a flowy yellow dress and messy curly hair. Her eyes never leaving it's form and she made sure to keep her movements as still as she could. Any tiny shake will cause it to fly away. 'What are you looking at, Abby?' Lincoln asked from the couch where he sat with a book in his hands. 'A ladybug.' Abby replied. She was sat in the kitchen on top of the bar stool eating her cereal when the bug flew over and joined her. 'It's so small, daddy.' 'Just make sure it doesn't go into your food, baby.' Lincoln said and turned the page of the book he was reading. Abby slowly took the spoon and fed herself another bite of the cereal before gently putting it back in the bowl. The bug was making its way to the edge of the table, its little legs moving fast and steady. 'Should I let it out?' 'If it can find its way in, I'm sure he will be fine finding his way out. Eat your food, baby.' Lincoln said, turning the page on his book. 'Can I please watch the TV, daddy? It's so boring here.' Abby whined. Lincoln didn't want to turn the tv on. During intermissions, they would often show the latest news and he already knows what will be displayed on the screen. The Folleys are most likely looking for their precious heir who is laying unconscious upstairs in the bedroom. Lincoln sighed and stood up from the chair, placing his book down on the table before making his way to Abby. 'Eat your food.' Lincoln smiled and hugged her from the back, planting small kisses on her neck. 'Okay.!' Abby said and continued eating her cereal. Lincoln looked out the window to see the clouds were blue and it seemed to be a great day outside and he was going to try and make Abby's days here as bearable as possible. 'Honey, I'm sorry this had to happen.' Lincoln said rubbing his nose into her hair, taking in her sweet scent. 'It's okay daddy. We can't let bad people take us away.' 'I wish you didn't have to experience this. I want you to always feel safe.' 'I'm safe as long as I'm with you.' Abby turned to look at Lincoln with a smile. She knew Lincoln had been on edge ever since they got here. Abby didn't know the full story but she wanted to make sure that she can at least help Lincoln feel better about the situation. 'Yes, you are.' Lincoln caressed her cheeks and leaned down to kiss her on the lips. Before Lincoln could pull away, they both hear a loud crash coming from upstairs. Lincoln's senses were immediately heightened. His guards were up and he held Abby close to him. 'Deedee is awake!' Abby exclaimed and jumped off the chair, running up the stairs. 'Abby! No. We don't know that.' Lincoln quickly ran after her. When he reached the stairs he grabbed her from behind and held her back. 'I think he's awake.' Abby looked up and said. 'Stay down here. I'll go and check.'  Lincoln shushed her. He didn't know this home very well and he doesn't trust it. Lincoln slowly made his way up the stairs making sure his footsteps are soft to not attract any danger. 'Dee?' Lincoln called out softly. When he finally made it to the door of the master bedroom, he turned the knob gently and flung the door open. The room was dark, with the curtains closed, blocking out the sunlight. But even in the darkness, Lincoln could see the bed in the middle of the room. Empty. 'Dylan?' Lincoln called into the empty room. His eyes scanned the area before he stopped at the shut bathroom door by the corner. The bottom of the door was lit up by the light inside. Lincoln moved his leg forward and took a deep breath. What was he even going to say to Dylan? Hey, sorry for knocking you unconscious and k********g you. Would Dylan be mad at him? Of course, he would. Who in their right mind would be happy about what he did. Lincoln placed his hand on the doorknob, taking in another breath before twisting it and pushing it open. 'f**k, ow.' Lincoln immediately saw a naked Dylan, sitting on the toilet seat with a towel pressed into his head. 'Dee.' Dylan swung his head up and gasped. He dropped the towel onto the ground and accidentally knocked over the bottle of pain-relieving cream on the counter. He also quickly covered his naked body in shame.  's**t!' he cussed and quickly grab the bottle, putting it upright. 'Where am I?' he asked. His brows were in a furrow and his lips were pulled back in a snarl. The bandage that Lincoln wrapped around his head was now discarded on the floor. There was a first aid kit on the counter as well as Dylan's doctor kit opened on the ground. It looked like he was trying to patch himself up. 'Let me help you.' Lincoln moved forward and took the paper towel by the side before wiping up the spilled cream on the ground. 'Linc?' Dylan asked. He had his head in his arms, trying to put some pressure on his pounding headache. What is happening? he thought. 'Nothing. Everything is fine. You just need some rest.' 'What happened to me? W-why are you here? I was- fuck.' he gasped. 'Why does my head hurt so much.' Dylan scrunched his eyes close. 'Look, I will explain everything once you are feeling better. Right now, you just need to rest, Dee.' Lincoln grabbed the heating pad and turned on the sink to hot water before filling it up. Dylan scrunched his brows at the sudden wave of pain that rushed to the back of his head. 'This should help with the pounding.' Lincoln said and turn around to place it on the back of Dylan's head, putting slight pressure. Dylan felt the pain slightly subside and laid his head on Lincoln's stomach who stood still in front of him. 'W-where...why aren't I in the hospital?' Dylan mumbled. He reached his arms up to hold onto Lincoln's waist for support. Even the smallest movement would trigger another sting in his head. 'You'll be fine here, I promise.' Lincoln said but when he looked down Dylan doesn't seem to be responding. After a few minutes of Lincoln rubbing the heat into his head, he heard soft snoring. Dylan had fallen asleep on his stomach. The prince didn't want to move too much as to not wake him. But he needs to bring him back to bed. Slowly and gently, he circled his arms around Dylan's underarms and lifted him up onto his shoulders. He then moved his legs up and held him in a bridal-style position before turning and making his way back into the room. Lincoln sat Dylan down on the bed softly, and thankfully, his actions did not wake the doctor up. Dylan was out like a light again. But Lincoln is expecting him to wake up either in a few hours or the next day. Dylan has elite blood and can heal quickly, but Lincoln was a strong pureblood and the damage he did was way too much for any elite to handle. It was a mixture of rage and betrayal that caused him to swung at Dylan so hard. It felt good for a few seconds, then the guilt seeped in immediately after. Lincoln bent down and placed a gentle kiss on Dylan's forehead before he covered the doctor with the blanket and exited the room. 'Is he awake, Daddy?' Abby asked when Lincoln appeared at the end of the stairs by the living room. 'Yes. But he fell back asleep. Let's give him some time to heal, okay.' 'Okay.' Abby slouched. She really thought she could finally talk to Dylan and see him awake. 'Don't be sad. He will be awake soon.' 'Should I go get more flowers?' Abby jumped up from her seat with a smile. 'You know I'm starting to think that you are only getting Dylan flowers as an excuse to go into the garden.' Lincoln said with a smirk. 'I'm just bored, daddy.' Abby pouted. 'You know what. You've been a really good girl lately.' Lincoln bent down and held Abby by her waist. ' I guess it wouldn't hurt for us to go for a little swim.' 'Really?' 'Yeah. You deserve it, sweetheart.' Lincoln said and they met in a deep kiss. 'Thank you, daddy.' 'Thank you, baby.'
