It has been three days since Dylan professed his love to Lincoln.
Lincoln was still slightly cold and distant but he was definitely better than before.
After the s*x, Lincoln made them lunch and they both ate in silence before going upstairs and taking a nap together with Abby. She had fallen asleep while playing with her toys and the sight of her curled up on the ground made both their hearts flutter.
Dylan didn't mind that Lincoln still chose to be silent but he counted a win when Lincoln kissed his cheeks goodnight when they were in the room. The main thing bothering him however, was the fact that Lincoln had yet to say I love you back to Dylan.
Remembering what Emmanuel had said to him, Lincoln falls in love very quickly. But the fact that he didn't say those word back t Dylan even after Dylan had said it with such confidence was worrying.
Was Lincoln in love with him? Did the betrayal really ruin any chance of them going back to how they were?
Those questions were the only thing running through Dylan's mind for the past three days.
'Daddy, look at my drawing.'
Dylan looked down at Abby who sat at the dining table with a pencil in her hand and paper in front of her. Lincoln's drawings were neatly by the side and Abby had tried to imitate one of the flower drawing.
'That looks amazing. You're a little artist.'
Even though her proportions weren't as precise and intricate as Lincoln's, Dylan praised her with a smile.
'Like daddy's.' Abby said and continued to draw on the paper.
After a few minutes of silence, they both heard a loud slam upstairs followed by sounds of yelling.
'What's happening, daddy?' Abby asked with worried eyes.
Dylan looked towards the stairs and stayed still to hear what was going on.
'That's not happening, Emmanuel are you kidding me? Are you f*****g kidding me?'
Dylan picked up on Lincoln's angered voice.
'I don't f*****g care! They can take him back, but Abby is staying with me!' Lincoln shouted and they heard another slam.
Abby whimpered slightly which caught Dylan's attention who grabbed her and hugged her closely.
'It's okay, darling. I think daddy is talking to the king. He just seems upset about something.'
What are they talking about? Dylan was worried as Abby seemed to be a part of the conversation.
'Do you honestly think that's best for her? Who's going to take care of her? I'm the only one that can do that! She's not a normal little they will f*****g take her! f**k, Emmanuel!'
Dylan heard the last yell before the sound of breaking glass, which alarmed Dylan.
Abby was sobbing into his chest softly and Dylan wanted to go check on the prince but didn't want to leave Abby alone at her current vulnerable state. It's night outside and he couldn't send Abby into the gardens either.
'It's alright, baby. Everything is okay.' Dylan rocked her in his arms and rubbed her back soothingly.
'Daddy is angry.' Abby whispered through her sobs.
'I know, I know. I'm sure he has a reason. He's not angry at you though.'
'But he's never this angry.'
Abby was right. Lincoln is always known to be calm and bright. He has great emotional control and he's not really seen with anger issues.
This must be serious if whatever it was conjured this reaction from him.
'Baby, close your eyes and relax. There's no danger here. No need to cry.'
Dylan cooed at Abby for slightly longer before he heard footsteps coming down the stairs before Lincoln appeared.
His hair looked to be in a mess, as if he had run his hand through it multiple times and his eyes were blood red, signifying his angered emotion.
'Give her to me.' Lincoln said under his breath as he stalks quickly to them, before pulling Abby away from Dylan and into his own arms.
'Linc-'
'Everything is fine, baby girl. You're staying with me. You're going to be safe. You're staying with me.' Lincoln said, almost breathlessly as he hurried his head into Abby's neck planting kisses.
'Linc, what happened.' Dylan asked.
Lincoln looked up for a second before looking away.
'Everything is fine, Abby. Daddy's here.' Lincoln ignored Dylan and continued to talk to Abby.
Lincoln quickly turned around and ran back upstairs, leaving Dylan alone to wonder what had happened to elicits such a distressed response from Lincoln.
Whatever Emmanuel said on the phone must have been shocking. Lincoln rarely ever gets angry like this.
It must have something to do with Abby since Lincoln seemed so adamant to confirm that she wasn't going to leave him. Were they going to take Abby away?
Neither Lincoln nor Dylan would allow that to happen no matter what. They would have to kill the both of them before anyone could lay a hand on their little.
Dylan sighed out loud and bent forward, covering his face with his hands. What were they going to do? It was hard for Dylan to access their current situation considering the fact that he didn't know what Lincoln was running from. His family seemed to be hell-bent on getting Lincoln locked up but nobody is explaining the reason for that.
The doctor didn't know what to think. He had always known his family to be supportive and kind. But of course, through the eyes of the Folley Heir, the Folley's are going to come across as angels. But it was clear that Dylan had been kept blinded from a lot of the family secrets. The biggest one being now, his partner.
'I'm sorry.'
Dylan looked up and saw Lincoln standing by the stairs. He quickly stood up and walked over to where Lincoln stood.
'It's okay. What's going on? What did Emmanuel say?'
'You need to go home.' Lincoln said, his face was stoic and cold.
'What?'
'And you need to take Abby with you.'
Dylan's eyes widened and he stared at Lincoln with shock.
'Take care of her. Just until-'
'No. She would freak out, Linc. '
'It's not her decision to make. It's...final.'
Dylan let out a breath and looked away. What is going on? Why is Lincoln doing this? The prince would never agree to allow Abby to leave his side.
'What happened?' Dylan asked again.
'Your family wants you back. And Emmanual thinks that Abby will be safest with you since you're not the one they are after. If she stays with me, they would have to send her away if I'm caught. But with you...'
Lincoln's voice softened and he felt his throat close up.
'I can't take care of her like you can.' Dylan said worriedly. He's job was to tend to sick Littles. He knew what Littles needed and how to care for them but with his job, his hands are full.
'Please, I'm begging you.' Lincoln choked out.
Dylan looked at Lincoln and noticed his black eyes glossing over with tears.
'Lincoln.' Dylan moved forward and pulled Lincoln in for a hug.
'You're the only person I would trust with her. Please take her and keep her safe.' Lincoln said as he circled his arms around Dylan's back and held tightly.
Dylan stayed silent for a moment before he tightened his grip.
'I'll take her...on one condition.'
Lincoln looked up and waited for Dylan to continue.
'Tell me why my family is after you.' Dylan said.
