Unfortunately this chapter isn’t great. But I hope it’ll be a start to me getting my inspiration back for writing. I love you guys. _________________________________ The next morning, Lincoln was busy with getting Abby dressed for the market. She was jumpy and excited which made it hard to get the clothing onto her. 'Darling, hold still. Let daddy button your dress.' Lincoln sighed after a few more minutes of trying. 'Do you think they will have a flower shop there?' Abby asked in a quick breath. 'We have plenty of flowers in the backyard why do you need more?' he asked. 'I'm just really excited, daddy! I can't wait to go walk around the village.' 'Aren't you worried about the crowd?' 'Will there be?' Abby stopped moving and asked him concerned. She never took that into consideration before. The excitement of leaving the house got the best of her. Lincoln chuckled softly and buttoned the last button on her dress before swinging her up into his arms. 'I'm not sure. But ill be there to protect you.' 'And Deedee too.' Abby added. Lincoln's smile fell flat at the mention of him but he quickly caught himself and put n a fake one for Abby. He barely had any rest last night because he kept thinking about the kiss he had shared with Dylan. He didn't know what he was thinking. He should have pulled away immediately when Dylan tried to kiss him but he couldn't help it. From the master bedroom, he could hear shuffling going on in Abby's room. He could only guess that Dylan didn't catch any sleep either. But neither of them got out of bed. 'Come on. Breakfast time.' Lincoln said and left the door. 'Let's go wake Deedee up.' Abby said looking at the closed door of her nursery. But almost immediately, the door swung open. 'I'm awake, sweetie.' Dylan said. He was only wearing a pair of boxers and his shirt was nowhere to be found. Lincoln took in a deep breath to try and keep his mind from wandering to other places. 'Good morning.' 'Morning. How'd you sleep?' Lincoln asked, knowing full well that neither of them slept a wink. 'Alright. The bed was kinda small.' Dylan said. Abby reached out to try and go to Dylan which he opened his arm with a bright smile. 'We're going to the village today, daddy.' Abby told Dylan. Lincoln rolled his eyes as he heard Abby call Dylan daddy again. 'Yeah? What are we doing there?' 'We need things for the house, and daddy says I can get some fish for the pond.' she smiled widely at the thought of adding new fishes to the pond out by their backyard. 'Abby, let's give Dylan time to change so we can go soon.' Lincoln said and took her back from Dylan's arms, who frowned at the loss of her contact. 'Uhm...where do I shower? There isn't a bathroom in this room.' Dylan asked. 'Go to my room. You can wear my clothes for now. I didn't take much of your stuff over.' Lincoln said and turned to the stairs before walking down. Dylan sighed out in slight annoyance. Lincoln was clearly still in a bad mood. It was frustrating that he wouldn't just be open about the situation with him. They had shared so much with each other. Without dwelling on it, he moved to the master bedroom and entered the bathroom, and started getting ready. 'Wear these.' Lincoln said as Dylan stood behind him by the kitchen. They had just finished the breakfast that Lincoln prepared and was ready to leave. 'What?' Dylan questioned looking down at the little container Lincoln had in his arms. 'Contacts. There aren't Elites in this part of town, it's all Red Eyes. It'll be suspicious if we arrived at the village with ours.' Lincoln explained and placed the contacts in Dylan's hands. Emanuel had packed 3 pairs of contacts for him so he had a spare for Dylan. 'Oh...okay?' Dylan said, opening the container. Inside the liquid were crimson red contacts. 'Just, keep a low profile and don't talk to anyone. We're actually not supposed to be leaving this house. Emanuel doesn't know this.' Lincoln said, effortlessly applying the contacts into his eyes, blinking a couple of times to rid the access liquid. 'Then why are we going? We should stay. What if the king finds out?' 'He wont. Plus, I need to leave the house before I lose my mind.' Lincoln said and went over to tie Abby's shoes. 'Daddy, you look strange with the red eyes.' Abby commented with a frown, not really liking how Lincoln looked in those contacts. When Lincoln’s eyes turn red due to thirst it was always a beautiful maroon almost black colour. But the contacts were bright and scarlet. It didn’t suit him and it made him look frightening. 'I know, baby. But I have to wear them for our safety.' Lincoln smiled and continued with her shoe. 'Why?' 'Because there are bad people looking for us remember? We have to be in disguise.' Lincoln tried explaining. 'How are we going to explain Abby? People will notice a little walking around. And I doubt they have littles around this place if there aren’t any elites.’ Dylan asked, his eyes now red from the contacts. He was still reluctant to go into the village now that he knows they weren't suppose to. Lincoln sighed and looked at Abby. 'Baby, daddy won't be holding you when we get to the village, okay. You're gonna have to walk on your own. And carry your own bag.' 'Why?' Abby asked curiously. Lincoln never leaves her to walk alone when they are at a new place. 'I need you to be a big girl just for awhile.' Lincoln said. It wouldn't be as strange to see a normal human with red eyed vampires so their cover won't be blown. So if Abby could just behave as a normal human, they would look like a normal group of friends. 'But you hate it when I'm a big girl.' ‘I know. But we can’t let anyone know that you’re a little. To keep us safe.’ Lincoln explained. ‘Okay, I’ll try my best.’ Abby smiled widely. ‘Good girl. Let’s go.’ Lincoln said and stood up, reaching his hands out for Abby to hold. ‘I don’t feel so good about this, Linc. What is the king finds out? What if someone in the village recognises us?’ Dylan furrowed his brows. ‘Calm down. We’ll just go for 20 minutes then we can leave. It’s a quite town, there won’t be much people, anyway.’ ‘What if I just stay here?’ Dylan asked. ‘I don’t trust you to not leave.’ Lincoln scoffed. Dylan rolled his eyes at Lincoln’s words and sighed. ‘Fine. 20 minutes.’
