Chapter 4

Amara At exactly 8 pm, I stood nervously at the entrance of the Earth’s terminal at the Grand Space Station, my hands trembling and my heart pounding. My breath hitched whenever any alien approached the terminal. Suffice to say, I was a nervous wreck. I slowly observe the terminal since it was my first time here. It’s not every day little ol' me got the chance to look at all these high-tech spaceships. It was a mesmerising sight. I watch in awe as different ships dock and take off from the terminal. The station had several levels. The Earth terminal was situated on the lowest ground level and exclusively used by those who had permission to visit Earth. Aliens go through a strenuous process and strict security checks to get a visa. That’s why I could only see a few aliens around. As I wait, I start to wonder who my date is and what kind of business he has on earth. Or is he someone who has temporarily made our planet their home? I hope not. I don’t wish to accidentally stumble upon him after tonight. I cringe at that thought. I was so lost in my own mind that I totally missed two towering males standing beside me. A low purr jolts me back to the present. I’m taken aback as I set my eyes on the huge god-like figures standing before me. They’re more than 7 feet tall, with skin as pale as a ghost and so beautifully built that even their long black silky robes aren’t able to hide their muscled physique. They have really sharp model-like features. Stunning violet cat eyes with no whites, a narrow high bridged nose and thin lips. Though what really catches my eye isn’t the long shiny silver hair that any girl would kill for, but the elegant horns on their heads. They look eerily similar to elves, but better. I’m entranced by them, my jaw is practically on the floor and I’m afraid I’ll start drooling any second now. Where’s the little green alien that I had envisioned? A horrid creature with sharp pointy teeth, eyeballs hanging from his socket and smelling of rotten eggs. “Have you never seen an alien before?” The one on the right speaks with an accent, his voice airy and hypnotic. It pulls me out of my daydream and it feels like I’m regaining control of my senses. He is taller of the two, a little leaner, with brighter eyes and longer horns swirling at the top. His horns also seem to be pure white, whereas his companion has pale blue horns. He has an air of authority about him and a commanding presence. He looks like someone who is used to his orders being followed without question. His eyes lock with mine and I’m unable to look away. I’m struck by their intensity. He’s looking at me like I’m a puzzle he hasn’t been able to solve yet. “No... I mean, yes! Yes, I have seen an alien before. Just not one that looks like you.” I start fumbling my words like an awkward pre-teen talking to their crush for the first time. “I didn’t know Arionians did business with humans.” Not like they need to. They are a super old and rich species. Only brushing shoulders with other super old and rich species. They must think of humans as dirt beneath their feet. Pompous Asses! “You didn’t know because you aren’t supposed to know. Humans get spooked quite easily. An annoying character trait of your species.” He rolls his eyes. “Anyway, greetings.” He makes a weird hand gesture near his chest which honestly looks like a kung fu stance. What if he’s looking to fight me? I’ll stand no chance, he’ll crush me with his pinkie finger. “Um, hello.” I wave and smile awkwardly. I find it impossible to act normally in his otherworldly presence. “I’m Arkas Qui Drax and this is my companion, Ragnark Czar.” He points towards his right where his friend is shamelessly gawking at me with a little smirk on his face. “Greetings human. Ragnark at your service.” Instead of giving the same weird greeting, he takes hold of my hand and places a kiss on top of it. “If you ever get bored of this guy, don’t hesitate to come to me. I’m known to be a great lover.” He winks at me, looking way too pleased with himself. Okay then, creep. “Ignore him. According to my information, you’re Amara Raina. 25 years old. Human female. Is that correct?” Arkan says, with clenched teeth. He looks irritated. I feel you, hot alien. This whole situation is very irritating and inconvenient. “Well, yes. And I’m assuming you’re my date? Or is this like a package deal? Cause I was told I’m going out with only one.” I start to panic. I’m not sure I can handle even a single one of them. But two?! I think I’ll just die. “You assume correct human. I am officially your date. Let’s proceed to our space cruiser. We have a lot to talk about and so little time. Hurry.” And with that, he turns around without even waiting for my reply and starts walking towards what appears to be space pods. He’s walking so quickly with his stupidly long legs that I almost have to run to catch up to him. We near those pods and both of them elegantly enter and strap up quickly. Whereas, I'm left wondering how this contraption works. Arkas, my lovely date, starts the engine while Ragnark takes pity on me and helps me settle down. Immediately, we take off. “Where are we going? Isn’t your spaceship stationed at the terminal? And why are we going to your ship? Isn’t it better to have the date on earth or even at the terminal? ” I finally ask the questions that have been bugging me since the last two minutes. Oh my god, I hope I’m not been kidn*pped by a bunch of good-looking aliens. Why did I agree to this?! Oh yeah, silly me! I didn’t. This brute just moved on expecting me to follow after giving me an order like I’m one of his subordinates. Even though he looks like an angel, he has the personality of a devil. “No, our space cruiser was way too big for your space station. So it’s currently orbiting the earth. We’re going there for a bit more privacy. Don’t worry, we’ll deliver you back on earth in one piece.” Ragnark informs me, again with his stupid little smirk. Keep on smirking dude, we’ll see who’ll smirk after a few years when you’re all wrinkly. Since there is nothing I can do now, I sit back and observe. It feels like flying on a plane, but much smoother. Although I don’t know how they achieved that, since this pod is much smaller in size. We slowly approach a giant shiny ship. I can’t tell where it begins or ends, it’s that massive. Wow. I watch in awe. Did they bring their whole ass planet on this ship? It looks way too excessive if you ask me. We finally dock at what appears to be a pod station and get off. There are several other pods and small spaceships docked there. But weirdly enough, I don’t see anyone else here. Arkas and Ragnark hurry me towards a side entrance and we take narrow metallic halls and one circular lift going straight to the upper most level of the ship. Arkas enters a big luxurious suite and I follow him inside. I hear a ping and turn around to see the lift doors shutting with Ragnark behind them. Now it’s just me and Arkas. Alone. In his room. “So, shall we start?” He says, sitting composed on the softest and comfiest sofa I have ever seen. I gulp.
