Chapter 7

847 Words
Steele The audacity of that prick. Always trying to intervene and act like some kind of f*****g knight and shining armor to Aurora like she needs protection. She's my girl, even though she may not truly know it yet. We've been sleeping together for five months and she says she will never love me, but I know that will change. She just hasn't completely let go of her feelings for Jason. He was the love of her life. It's understandable, so I'll give her time. I'll give her all the time in the world, she's worth it. I've been in love with her for years, but Jason and her got serious, so I stepped back, had respect since he was one of my close friends. I kept my feelings to myself, but when he passed and she needed someone, I was there. I've always been there and she'll realize that one day. That she needs me just as much as I need her. With a stellar grin smeared across my face, I walk out of Jonah's office, striding past the bar. The bar Kane is situated behind mixing drinks. He notices my presence walking by out of the corner of his eye, looking up to meet my gaze. Defiantly I grin, knowing I'm the winner, I'm the one who has won the prize he is deviously attempting to try to win over. Aurora can't see what I can. She's not a man. She doesn't see the look of want and desire I know burns deep behind his stare every time his eyes look upon her. She's a beautiful woman that can't be ignored, can't be denied. Kane has come to a town wanting something unattainable, something that is already claimed, something that is mine, even though he plays the honorable gentleman in front of Aurora. Probably just part of his slick game plan to try and win her over when he so deviously pretends like he doesn't want her, which I know is a lie. She's perfect, beautiful, sweet, yet wild and hard to tame (something I will conquer). The perfect woman every man desires, every man wants, but only one will get, that only one being me. He knows from my prevailed smirk what has happened, a furious cringe propping on his surprised face while he leans up from grabbing an empty glass, filling it with the spray nozzle while trying to hold his composure. "Enjoy your day at work." I refreshingly offer making my way by. I can't help but slow down just a bit as our eyes beam into one another to reiterate I'm the one who has proudly won Aurora . I can see the the fury encased within his entire composure, ready to unleash, myself ready to demolish in an instance, but Aurora comes walking out shortly behind me. Innocently she addresses Kane, trying to disguise the fact that I just f****d her brains out on Jonah's desk minutes ago. "Hey Kane, is everything going okay?" She's too good of a person, too good that sometimes it pisses me off when she shows attention to the wrong people. "Yea," He looks her way, tightly gripping the glass in his hand, the words fighting its way out of his mouth. "I'm fine." He's lost and he knows it, all of his anger fighting to stay repressed. "Are you sure? You look like something is bothering you?" She tilts her head, looking at him peculiarly and in worry. I'm really not liking how she seems to have some affection for this nobody, so I butt in. I step to Aurora, reaching out, I take my arm and let my hand slide around her waist until I'm pulling her into me, curling her body to mine. With my face looking down onto her, I speak with an hernest, delicate smile, "Babe he's fine. Why don't you get back to work and then come over later after your shift? I can have dinner ready for us and then we can hang out and spend some time together. I got off early today just for you. Let's make the most of it." After our heated discussion with our first encounter with Kane, I got my boss to let me off earlier today. I couldn't focus on work, I couldn't focus on anything but Aurora, thoughts of her clouding my brain. "Steele, I have things I need to take care of today. Maybe later this week okay?" She presses a soft moist hand to my cheek, a vibrant smile carries along her own. How can I say no to that? "Okay baby, we'll talk later and I'll see you soon." I lean down until my lips meet hers. I pry my tongue into her willing mouth, a tango erupting inside once they make contact. I know Kane is watching in disapproval, in a distraught disarray and I'm loving every f*****g minute of it as I conquer Aurora's mouth, my arms only pulling her closer, hugging her tight, showing that sorry fucker she's mine and will never be his.
