Kian’s POV Rafel walked into my office with a worried look on his face. I already knew something was wrong. “What is it?” I asked. He closed the door. “Alpha… we haven’t heard from our spy in Midwest.” My stomach tightened. “How long?” “Two days,” he replied. “He was supposed to check in every twelve hours. Nothing came in. I think he’s been caught.” I pushed back from my desk and stood. “Damn it.” I paced the room, anger and fear mixing in my chest. “We should send another one, someone faster and careful.” Rafel shook his head immediately. “It’s too dangerous. Nyra’s people are alert now. They’ll be expecting another spy. If they catch two in a row, she will know someone is specifically targeting her pup.” I clenched my jaw.
