I tossed again restlessly . The silence in the room seemed unnatural. That scent, faint but familiar, clung to the air. It couldn’t be real. It couldn’t be her. I sat up sharply, scanning the dark room. Nothing moved. The door was locked. The windows shut. Yet, the smell lingered; wildflowers and rain, the same scent that once drove me mad.
