From the moment he woke, the entire house seemed to obey his laughter. He’d run through the hallways, chased by guards who pretended not to let him win, or sneak into the kitchen to “inspect” whatever the cooks were making. Even Commander Rohan would bend to his whims.
One morning, I was still half asleep when Kael climbed into my bed and yanked the blanket off me.
“Alpha Nyra! Wake up! You promised we’d go see the training grounds!”
I groaned, blinking at him. “You’re getting too bold, little wolf.”
He puffed his chest proudly. “I’m not little! I’m strong! Like you.”
Before I could reply, Selene’s amused voice floated in from the doorway.
