DREW WAS PHYSICALLY exhausted when he finished the four miles, but his mind and heart were no less consumed by Trixie. He mopped the sweat off his face and arms, then left the gym, his towel flung over his shoulder. He peeked into the adjoining pool area, and saw her floating gracefully on her back, her eyes closed, her haunted expression reflecting the same inner conflict he was having.
