TRIXIE ARRIVED HOME late, and immediately felt more lonely than usual without Joshua there to snuggle up to on the sofa. Sighing, she stripped off her clothes in the bedroom and climbed into the shower, letting the steam soothe her troubled spirit. She stayed beneath the spray until the hot water began to fade, then stepped out and dried herself off. Shuffling back into her bedroom, she pulled on her most comfortable pajamas, leaving a towel wrapped around her wet hair. Ice cream, or wine? she contemplated as she went to her kitchen. Hmmm.
