Well, this wasn’t really shopping, D considered. Besides it was kind of fun and Mavis had more clothes, shoes and jewelry than Mrs. Ferdinand Marcos. D checked one jewelry box, mostly with an eye for items that she could pawn or sell for cash. She spotted several pair of diamond studs, picked out an especially large stoned set and put them into the holes recently vacated by her stainless steel ear rings. As an additional accessory, she selected a much smaller diamond stud and placed it carefully in one of the nostril holes left by the recently removed rings. Such facial decoration was commonplace in Asia and she knew it would not seem unusual to anyone. What she couldn’t fix were the holes in the other nostril and her septum.
