The heavy warehouse doors slammed shut with a deafening bang, making the entire building tremble.
Everyone spun around instinctively.
"What was that?" one of the guards shouted.
Before anyone could reach the exit, the overhead lights flickered once... twice... then died, plunging the warehouse into complete darkness.
Only the sound of hurried breathing filled the silence.
A second later, dim red emergency lights blinked on, bathing the enormous warehouse in an eerie glow. Long shadows stretched across the concrete floor, making abandoned crates and rusted machinery look like lurking figures.
Ethan immediately raised his flashlight while the security team formed a protective circle around Zara.
"Stay alert," Damian ordered, pulling Zara gently behind him. "They're here."
Then a slow, mocking laugh echoed through the building.
It came from everywhere at once.
Hidden speakers crackled to life.
"Welcome, Zara."

After escaping the warehouse, the team pauses at a safe location to catch their breath and assess what just happened. Everyone is shaken, and the silence is heavy.
As Ethan checks everyone for injuries and missing equipment, he notices a small object tucked inside Zara's coat pocket. She is surprised because she is certain it wasn't there before they entered the warehouse. The realization is unsettling—someone managed to get close enough during the chaos to leave it there without being noticed.
Ethan carefully examines the flash drive before connecting it to his secure laptop. He scans it first, worried it could contain tracking software or another trap. Finding only a single video file, he hesitates before pressing play.
The screen flickers to life.

It's Zara's father.

The room falls completely silent.
The video begins with a simple sentence that immediately tells Zara the recording was meant for her alone. Before anyone can recover from the shock, the message hints that her father knew his life was in danger long before his death.
