Lilac Alaric only stared at me now. He wasn’t smiling, and a shiver rolled down my spine when he reached up and touched my cheek with his thumb, his touch soft. “I told you I would come for you.” He growled and my stomach rocked hard. I breathed shallowly, my heart accelerating even more and my head spinning as his scent wafted into my lungs. I could feel everyone’s eyes on me, including my parents and twin, and clearly they were already starting to connect the dots. “But unfortunately, I’m not taking you with me.” Alaric’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I almost fainted. W- what?” I whispered, the world shifting around me when he pulled his hand away, making my body instantly turn cold as ice. He took a single step back, then he spoke. Loudly, that the walls shook. “Fall in, men!” The sounds of about a hundred footsteps filled the air at once, thundering hard against the hard ground, and then men were pouring in from every door and windows, even the roof, till they all surrounded the entire room. They were clad in black, holding powering looking weapons of all kinds which they had pointed at the entire crowd. I blinked slowly, the ground tilting beneath my feet as I stumbled, my heart abruptly crashing to the ground. No. No. No. This can’t be happening now. Alaric stood right there, his lips twitching in amusement as he took in my shocked expression. Around me, everyone was already screaming again. My mother had already fainted, and Mavin had quickly moved to Ava’s side, holding her protectively. “Why do you look so shocked?” He droned, his voice heavily laden with amusement as he shook his head. “Did you seriously think I’ll keep to my part of the deal?” He asked next, barking out a laugh and despite me trying to speak, no sound escaped. “I have you to thank for my plans finally falling into place though. I communicated with my men throughout my time being locked up, with my mind link still connected to them— which your pack alpha believed he successfully severed right after I got locked up.” More shock rocked through me. “They’ve always wanted to raid this pack and set me free, but I always ask them to be patient cause I knew that would only lead to them being massacred.” He paused for a moment, lowering his voice as he stepped closer and cupped my frozen face. “But then luckily, you somehow landed in my cage— and then pitched me the juiciest deal ever, and here we are, so… thank you, Lilac.” My legs gave out from underneath me and I tumbled to the ground, my entire world crumbling around me. He turned away from me, his eyes on my father, who looked like he’s about to pass out, his face extremely pale as he began to let out panicked pleas, which fell on deaf ears. “And now, for daring to capture me… knowing you’d never have succeeded if I hadn’t passed out, and then lying to everyone that you took me down yourself…” a laugh left his mouth as he shook his head, the sound making the terror in the air thicken. “For daring to not only lock me up, but also constantly drug me with enchanted poisons so I’d never be able to escape and destroy your pack, I’ll kill everyone in this pack— starting from you.” As panicked screams filled the air, I got on my knees at once, rushing forward and gripping Alaric’s leg desperately. “Please, don’t do this, I beg of you.” I cried out fast, my voice cracking around the edges and my heart threatening to explode. No one in this pack might love me but this was my fault. If I didn’t go to him with my stupid plan, he wouldn’t be out here right now. He glanced down at me before shaking me off, then someone, a beta, walked towards him with a large sword. The sight of the sword made another wave of terror wash over everyone, because from a glance, I realized that it was the famous sword a lot of people have heard stories about. The black, ancient sword with a glowing crystal on the hilt, said to be carved by actual gods. A regular alpha couldn’t wield it, but alpha Alaric effortlessly controls it. As soon as he unsheathed the sword, it pulsed in his hold, the crystal glowing brightly and the entire crowd gasped in fear. He pointed the sword at me next, and I almost fainted as his next declaration washed over me. “I think I’ll start from you instead,” A choked cry left my mouth as I remained frozen in place, unable to breathe. “I’m so sorry!” I cried out desperately, my head spinning from the fright washing over me. He lifted his sword high and I recoiled hard, squeezing my eyes close while my entire body shook. But the sword never came. Slowly, I blinked my eyes open. “You know what? I think killing you is too boring, too easy.” He announced as he handed the sword back to his beta, and my spine grew stiff as a stick. “I’ll kill everyone else, but I’ll bring you back with me, and make you my slave. You’ll get to experience all I experienced these past years. From a beloved princess to a captured slave… before I finally kill you.” A sudden rush of disorientation gripped me. His beta, a handsome, tall man, nodded beside him in agreement, a grin breaking out on his face. “You should make her your w***e, my king. The beloved silver wolf princess reduced to a c*m-dump.” ~~~ Alaric’s pov “You’re right, Logan.” I roughly responded to my beta. “She’ll make a fine s*x slave.” As horrified gasps echoed around us, rage as hot as lava burned through my chest. Throughout the four years I was locked up, I kept reimagining one thing: slashing Lilac with my sword and watching her bleed out. Because she was the reason for my downfall. “You’re lucky I’m not killing you right now.” I growled while staring down at her ashen face, and she let out a choked sob, tears now swimming in her large blue eyes. The rage within me tripled. If I hadn’t decided to save her that night, I wouldn’t have been caught in that trap, and the only reason I decided to save her, was because I found out that she was my fated mate who I’ve been searching for, for over two decades. The fact that the same mate ended up stabbing me in the chest in return for saving her, was something I never saw coming. And because of her, I’ve lost something I fear I might never get back. “Please don’t do this, I beg of you.” Her soft, trembling voice made me focus on her again, tears rolling down her face like waterfalls. The sight threatened to tug something within me but I shut a brick door over it fast. She was still breathtakingly beautiful like I remembered all those years, her eyes like blue moons, and skin so pale it was almost like paper. I pushed that thought to the back of my mind, gesturing at her cowering father. “I think I’ll bring your beloved father with us as well. Maybe I’ll take you in front of him for the first time before killing him in front of all the other pack leaders, so they can all remember their place.” A strangled gasp left her throat, and she looked like she might throw up. I looked away, my eyes roaming around the crowd of terrified people. Her father, alpha Kaden, an overzealous foolish alpha, tried pleading again but I nodded at my beta, who gestured to some of my men, and then Kaden was dragged out while he screamed and pleaded for mercy. “Should we take her as well, alpha?” Logan asked, pointing at Lilac still kneeling on the ground. I nodded once. “Take her away.” I turned away, not wanting to watch her fully break as she got bundled up and carted off, her terrified screams echoing through the whole hall. I have no intention of f*****g her like she and everyone else are presently fearing. The thought of doing that after how she heartlessly betrayed me left me feeling angry all over again. Because of her, my wolf was no more. Right after I got captured, her bastard father had a rare kind of poison injected into me everyday so I’d never recover enough to set myself free. I never felt my wolf since then, and despite it being years, I’m yet to get used to that hollow feeling within me. That was the only reason I decided against killing Lilac when I had the chance two days ago, cause I remembered that she possessed a rare healing ability that she once used on me, one that surpassed all the skills of all my pack’s healers combined. The plan was pretty straightforward: I’m taking her back with me so she’d heal my wolf and revive him, and only till she succeed, then I’d finally give her what she deserves, which is death. I let my eyes wander over the crowd one last time. They were all useless and powerless, none of them were worth my time now. I turned around and walked out, my men falling in right behind me, leaving behind a gust of dust. Sorrow as thick as the wind lingered in the air, as if mourning for everyone because of what my re-entrance into the world undoubtedly meant. Chaos for everyone.
