Chapter 7- Bonding
The next couple of days went on without a hitch, thankfully. Although it has been very hectic for us with finally getting the RV ready and clean. To my dad finally being released from the hospital. Meaning he was cleared. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. If I lost him, I wouldn't have a clue what to do. He was this constant in my life. And let's face it I’m a daddy's girl.
Carter and I couldn't have been better and even, Jasmine has hung out with us, she was super nice and I'm glad I got to meet her.
She's finally looking for a girlfriend after she unconventionally came out to her parents. In a totally badass way might I add?
Looking around my room with no other than Kelly and myself.
"Wait so where are we staying?" Kelly asked.
"At a beach house, it's going to be amazing." I said, "And nice try but stop trying to change the subject, what's going on between my two best friends?" I said inching closer to her face, hoping she would finally spill.
"Fine, we are dating," she says her cheeks blushing a light shade of pink. And let's just say Kelly never blushes. She really likes Henry.
"I knew it!" I say a little too loudly.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, what about you and Carter?" she asks smirking.
"We're good," I said evasively. Not making eye contact.
"So, how is he?" she asks bringing her eyebrows up and down.
"He's good and well?" I said confused about her question.
"No, I mean in bed," she says throwing her head back and laughing.
"What- we neve- I mean that didn-. I'm a 'virgin'," I said putting quotes around the word.
"You are a virgin," she says, but a lot more meaning was behind that.
Ever since Ryan, I always saw myself as some sort of slut. Just for giving it away so easily. I wondered why I didn't fight hard enough. I could have fought harder. I knew I did all I could I did what I had to do to survive. As bad as it sounds, I rather have been dead than go through that.
All those thoughts used to be in my head post-Ryan, I have all bad thoughts in my mind 24/7 everything reminded me of him, and that night. I had nightmares for months where I would wake up screaming. My dad never knew why but I could tell he knew something happened. Soon enough he just stopped asking what was wrong and just simply told me it was going to be ok.
Something every girl needs to hear from their dad once in a while.
"I know," I say forcing a tight smile.
"We're leaving tomorrow right?" Kelly asks thankfully changing the subject.
"Yup, I can't wait," I said forcing a smile. Ever since that note we received. I've been on edge.
I'm nervous about going to Cape Cod, because how do we really know if they aren't the bad guys. The ones who are letting us use the house. And how will we know if there even is a real house there It could end up being some sort of c***k house right on the beach.
"I can't wait to get there," she says looking excited. Hopefully, this trip is better than I think it will be, I'm just nervous.
Currently, Kelly and I are in the middle of making sundaes for each other. We both picked out two tubs if ice-cream each and some toppings. We make a sundae and then switch them. We only do this when we are on our periods.
Because I don't know about you but I crave sweets during my time of the month, don't judge. Being that I know exactly what she likes I smothered the ice-cream in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Topping it off with sprinkles.
"You almost done?" I asked shaking more rainbows colored sprinkles on her cookie dough and mint cookie crumble mix. And passed it to her.
"Here," she says giving me my ice-cream.
We both grabbed two huge spoons and made our way to my room; I popped in the breakfast club. One of our all-time favorite movies. And sat down on my bed which was piled up with blankets and fuzzy comfy pillows.
It felt so good just to have a girl's night.
"I miss my best friend," I said leaning into Kelly.
"Me too, in glad it’s summer vay-cay!" she says and we burst out laughing.
"I've never heard you that preppy unless you're talking about a certain blonde-haired boy," I said with a wink.
"I have no clue what you're talking about," she said pretending to watch the movie and shoves a huge scoop into her mouth.
"Sure, you don't... Whatever happened to Evan?" I say referring to her first boyfriend. Who Henry hated... I wonder why?
Note the sarcasm.
"He was a great guy, but we decided we weren't for each other. I'll always have a special place for him in my heart," she says.
"Enough with the mushy stuff, on with the movie," I say pointing to the screen. I absolutely adore this movie.
As the movie draws to a close, we both hear a noise at my window. We both look at each other to confirm we heard it and aren't going crazy, and sure enough, we hear the noise again.
I crawl out of the warmth that is my blankets and set down my bowl, and head to the window. Parting the curtains, I see two figures in my backyard.
"Carter?" I question.
"It's me and Henry, both of you come down. We're going on a double date," Carter says.
