Four Deirdre peered into the microscope. She’d already mixed the djinn’s blood with the reagents the lab had on hand and had discovered that he was Type O, RH negative. That had surprised her somewhat — for some reason, she’d halfway expected that the reagents wouldn’t react to his blood at all, that the djinn must possess a blood type which didn’t even exist in humans. However, while his blood was a fairly rare type, it was still completely normal. Now she was performing karyotype analysis, matching his pairs of chromosomes and looking for abnormalities. Of course, the main one leapt out at her immediately, was so obvious that at first she thought she must have performed the chromosome separation incorrectly, even though she’d performed the procedure many times in her genetics class.
