Then again, Amaal had also shared his own confidences. His brother definitely hadn’t sounded like a very nice person. Deirdre wondered who the woman was that Amaal’s brother Omar had tried to kidnap. A djinn, she assumed, beautiful and exotic. Would a djinn woman even put up with that sort of behavior, though? Surely djinn women had their own powers and could probably take care of themselves. Then again, maybe not. Amaal hadn’t said much about his female counterparts, so maybe they differed from the male djinn in terms of the powers they commanded. It was hard to say for sure, because Amaal was the only djinn she’d ever seen. She knew nothing about the women of his race, except the bits and pieces that had come out when they were discussing the djinns’ concept of families and relationship
