Maine (POV)
I felt something on my chest. It wonder and goodness. So positive that I simply cannot imagine what happened last night. It was all so surreal. My classmates and friends were here. My parents and Kuya Aaron were really into it. Nilaban ko talaga hangga’t kaya ko. Hindi ko agad sumuko. I did my best and sang my lungs out. It wasn’t for me, yes. But it showed the difference between my life back then and now. Now my phone is ringing and I picked it up. It’s Gilbert.
"Maine! Hello!"
"Oh, napatawag ka?"
“I would just like to ask how are you.”
“I’m feeling good.”
“Buti naman. Sa totoo lang, excited na ako sa party mamaya.”
“You should be! It is for everyone.”
“Gusto ko na ring sabihin sa ‘yo na magaling ka pa rin, kahit na anong mangyari. You fought a good fight.”
