  Amelia   “Dewi” My voice was small as we made our way to the small gathering of people, I saw them straight away. Of course, I did. Their faces were seared into my brain. My parents. I reached for his hand, and it wasn’t pretence. I needed his touch, it was the only thing that had any chance of calming my thundering heart.  He raised the hand in his to his lips, his warm breath having the calming effect I had hoped for. “Dewi don’t…” I didn’t even know how to finish. I hated him, and I did with every fibre of my being but it was done. The bond was there. I was his mate, and I would be until the day I died.
