JOSE MEETS JONATHAN
Amelia watched this man she had now come to know as Jose in annoyance as he sat across from her over the counter enjoying his coffee latché, yet another drink she had recommended for him.
Every morning for the last couple of days he came by the coffee shop just to see her, bringing up small talk and trying to get to know more about her.
“Good morning yet again sir.” She said putting much emphasis on the ‘yet again’ with obvious distaste in her tone.
She didn't bother to hide it anymore at this point, the very sight of him pissed her off.
“Ah, good morning Amelia.” He said brightly to her. “ I was wondering where you were. I got the drink you recommended for me. It's quite delicious.” He said as he looked up at her with hidden excitement in his eyes.
She wore her frilly maid uniform as usual but seemed to be more beautiful with each passing day.
“You look pretty today.” He complimented in a soft voice and she flushed. She had to hold herself steadily to not sway from his words.
“I’ve told you a million times over, I have a boyfriend!” She whispered to him as her brows furrowed into a frown.
She didn't know how many times she had to tell him off before he got the message.
He chuckled openly at her tantrum using a hand gracefully to cover his smile, like he could care any less of her human boyfriend.
She had to admit his charming smiles weakened her here and there, but they meant nothing!
“Would you like anything else?” He looked over at the display case filled with different cakes and desserts. He never saw himself as much of a sweet tooth, but he'd give anything just to spend more time with her
“The chocolate cake, please.” Amelia faked a smile as she nodded, writing down his order.
Her frustration was replaced with her manager's happiness by Jose's presence for the fact he spent more money and the rate of customers that came by just to see Jose skyrocketed greatly over the past couple of days he was coming around.
Amelia didn't care if he went as far as buying the entire café, she would not give in to any of his tactics to get close to her.
The next morning, Luna Martha was seated on the couch of their exquisitely adorned sitting room, basking in the soft silks of its fabric.
She had handpicked almost every item in their million-dollar mansion, from all the paintings to the littlest porcelain ceramic plate.
She smelt Jose's cologne from his room and could tell that he was done getting ready. She noticed his change and frequent outings, especially in the mornings. She knew even if he went to work, it wouldn't be so early.
He appeared out of his room, approaching her, he kissed his mother on the forehead.
“Good morning, mother.” She giggled at her son's childishness as she patted his head softly, “Morning my lovely son. Where do you seem to be off to? And don't say work because I know that is not where you are off to.”
“We have an early meeting today, Mother. I have to be at the office early.” That much was true, but he was certainly going to see Amelia before he started his day.
She watched as he adjusted the tie around his neck, her motherly instincts never lying to her. “Are you seeing someone?”
He choked up at his mother's words using his hand to cover up his flushed face. “Mother!”
She chuckled at his reaction as she watched him leave the room.
On his way to the café he was startled as the view of Amelia crying out profusely came into sight, she was begging a tall man whose face was crumpled up into a frown.
Jose wondered what was going on as he quickly approached the scene.
“Babe! Please stop this, I'm at work.” Amelia tried holding on to him to calm him down but he just brushed her off from him. “Please Jonathan, I promise I'll make it up to you later, just not right now.”
“I just want the f*****g money, Amelia! Is that too hard to understand?” He shouted back at her and she slightly trembled under his voice.
On hearing all this and realizing it was Amelia's so-called human boyfriend who made her cry, he felt the citing anger boiling up inside him as he pushed Jonathan firmly away, sending him backward on his heels.
It took him a lot of self-control not to punch him in the face at that very moment.
“Leave her alone! Can't you see you're making her cry?” He shouted out, pure rage evident in his eyes. “Leave now before I do something drastic,” Jose warned, his teeth grating together.
Was this the bozo she talked so seriously about?
Jonathan looked at him from head to toe and judging from his physique, he was not someone he could take down easily.
Jonathan stared into Amelia's eyes pissed off before turning around to leave.
She wanted to stop him, but she fell short of words, she just knew it was all over for her.
Jose leaned in on her, “Are you alright?” Amelia immediately pushed him away screaming at him.
“What the f**k do you think you're doing?” She shouted out, her eyes welling up in frustration.
“What do you even want? Can't you stop being such a bastard and leave me alone? I don't want to see you anymore. Just never come close to me again!” She yelled out at him in annoyance.
He watched as she silently left him alone with an empty feeling in his chest.
