"Thank you so much for being here. I really couldn't thank you enough Heather, honestly." Massy said clinging to Odell's mother not wanting to let go. Heather squeezed tighter around her small waist. "Of course, you know I wouldn't pass up a chance to come to Brazil, see the Olympics, and cheer you on all at once!" Massy smiled and kissed the Heather's cheek. She pulled from Heather and held onto her shoulder, both women stood at 5'7 looking eye to eye, with a quick glance you'd assume the two women to be related by blood and not future marriage. "Oh and don't forget that UCLA visit." "Oh don't you dare. Hopefully she forgets about it, teenagers change their minds every five minutes!" Heather said eyeing Jasmyne as she stood with large beats headphones over her ears and scrolling through her iPhone. Massy smiled and let go of Heather and moved over to Jasmyne pulling her into a hug. "Thanks for coming beautiful." Massy said smiling. "Thanks for talking my mom into it, I just wish I could of stayed for as long as you're going to be here." Jasmyne said rolling her eyes. "Well I won't have anymore free time like I did in the quarterfinals, the semifinals are coming and practice is now two-a-days, even on off days, but..." Massy leaned in close to her ear. "I'll make it up to you with that UCLA visit. Ok? Shhhh, don't say anything." She whispered and winked her right eye with a smile. Her eyes widened followed by a wide smile. "Yeesss!" She giggled in excitement. "I heard that!" Heather pointed her finger between the two of them. "Alright, I love you guys." "Love you too." Massy chewed the inside of her cheek watching the walk away. "TEXT ME WHEN YOU LAND! AND DON'T FORGET TO TEXT ODELL!" Heather nodded her head and waved her hand showing Massy she heard her. Her closest connection to Odell without actually having him there had officially left. She took a deep as she watched them until she could see them anymore then breathed out through her mouth, she smiled, she still had her parents and sister to cheer her along with millions of other Americans. The Olympics continued, a day dedicated to beach volleyball, diving and synchronize swimming, all while 246 cyclist raced against a clock in a six hour race traveling up steep hill sides and beach cliffs. Exploring Brazil couldn't of come at a better time, sitting back enjoying their confirmed spot in the semifinals while the remaining soccer teams knocked one another out sending them back home. Massy straddled the large sculpture of a bull, painted in bright colors, it randomly stood smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. "I wish we had a multi colored statue of a bull in our neighborhood!" Massy poked her bottom lip out. "Ace, we live in New York, there's statues of literally everything there!" Alex said grabbing Massy's hand, hoisting herself up to sit behind her. "You ever thought about switching teams?" Massy said closing one eye from the bright sun, she looked back at Alex. She laughed at her humor and looked around admiring the beautiful view. "I got no choice now." Alex huffed and rolled her eyes. "Honestly, I wouldn't mind playing in Brazil every day!" Alex said leaning in and laying her head on Massy's back. "I never want to leave, should we just tell our boyfriends we're staying for good." Massy smiled and looked around. "Yea, we should probably send that text." MassyAriasII: Beach fútbol with locals. Our own semifinals. Massy bent at the waist dusting sand from her knees, Alex pulled her hair into a tight ponytail. "At least I get to finish the season out with you." Massy rolled her eyes, poking her bottom lip out. "That's not enough, it's the fact that a trade is even happening in the first place. What the hell am I supposed to do? If they're trading defenders Sophie should be the one to go!" Alex frowned looking at her overreacting. "You act like I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm not getting traded till the end of the season. Plus, they're not going to trade Sophie for Megan, why the hell would Boston trade a grade A defender for ... Sophie." "Yea, they're going to trade top for top, or top for two players. That means we got a championship to win before you leave." Massy let out a devilish grin. Massy's smile disappeared, she frowned again. "You think they trade forwards?" Alex shook her head and continued to stare at the kids playing beach soccer, their screams grew in volume every time some good or bad happened. "I doubt it, you know a forward is like a quarterback or a point guard in soccer, coach isn't going to trade his 'Brady' or his 'Kobe'... God I hope I get sent to Boston and not Kansas." Alex whined shaking her head. "If you get traded to Kansas Ima start calling you Dorothy." Alex glared at Massy as she smiled back at her. "Don't you dare. I'll kill you!" Alex threatened back pointing her index finger at Massy as she continued to laugh in her face. Odell dropped the bright yellow tennis ball, he placed his arms above his head trying to control his breathing, sweat dripped down his throat and trailed down the center of his abs. "You thinking too hard about this, it's Massy, don't you think if it was a trade involving her sports media would be all over it. She's the forth ranked female soccer player in America right now! You would know about this off top!" Brad said focusing in on him, he had known Odell for five years, since he was eighteen, he knew how he could overrate to situations when he didn't have all the details, this was also something Sophie knew about Odell. Something that could work in her favor of Odell went about throwing his usual temper tantrums. "Why would she tell me some bullshit like that then?" Odell wiped the sweat from his face them adjusted his hat. "Because it's Sophie, that's what she does. Creat bullshit when she's not getting enough attention. She was obsessed with you in college and she still obsessed with you now." Brad shook his head he sounded annoyed as if this was something that he should of obviously known, something that he should of caught on too. "The minute she got word of a trade she would of told you. I know that for a fact!" "B, come on you of all people know how trades work. You know they keep that s**t secret for a few weeks." Odell said wiping more sweat from his face. "Yea, I know how FOOTBALL trades work, NOT soccer trades, I don't know what they do!" Odell watched Brad pick up footballs, tossing them into a small pile, he stood in silence thinking for a moment. With the both of them being athletes, trades could happen at any moment when you least expected it. Causing one to have to uproot their life to a different city, and it didn't matter if you were married or not. Some athletes asked for trades, some teams traded their best athlete for multiple new players, some teams traded their worst players, all kinds of different things. It was something that as athletes you had no choice but to deal with. "Not saying that she is being traded, but what if it happens when we're married?" Odell asked. Brad could tell this topic was forcing Odell to think ahead, forcing him to think about something he never had until now. Brad looked up at him, he squinted his eyes from the sun and remained squatting in silence as he braced himself on a football. "I don't know bro, you just... Make it work? If you really love one another you, you make it work." He honestly said shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders.
