Odell could admit he wasn't use to having something as good as Massy, judging by how far their relationship had gotten she was definitely a breath of fresh air, especially if we were to compare her to Sophie. His constant overthinking when it came to Massy was a result in how scared he was at the thought of possibly loosing her, but Brad talking him off the ledge before he acted like an asshole was really all he needed. Brad and Jarvis both never had a problem with letting Odell know when he was acting like an asshole or when he was about too.
"Odell the Villein strikes again." Odell Sr said in a menacing voice he pulled the headphones from his son's head. He had been in town for a week, doing business and closing deals on Odell's sports drink 'Roar'.
"Villein?" Odell repeated looking up at him. Sr dropped his phone in Odell's lap. He picked it up to another story about his attitude on the field, this time it was a different perspective. It was his own words about himself.
"It's never easy being great at what you do and when it comes to New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr it's easy to become a target there's no denying that he has become one of the best and most disliked players in the NFL.
After a breakout rookie season, that included his iconic one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys the narrative towards Beckham changed as many opponents grew frustrated at his perceived whining when on the field, being dubbed as the "Golden Boy" of the NFL he's said to get away with what other players wouldn't.
Beckham downplayed the impact others have on his day-to-day life on Wednesday during a interview with ESPN, but he did indicated he is aware of the growing dislike. He also indicated that he is unbothered by it.
"I don't know if I'm necessarily liked anywhere, really," Beckham said, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
"It just is what it is when we're on the field; off the field, there's no hard feelings for me anywhere. At the end of the day, it's football. I can't control who resents, likes, doesn't like, in a sense. We just go out there, handle our business, play football, and keep it moving from there."
After asked if he's become the NFL's latest villain, Beckham - who believes players like Josh Norman, Stephon Gilmore, and Chris Culliver dislike him because he has fun - was unsure.
"I don't know. You tell me," Beckham said. "Could be that way, couldn't be that way, I don't know. I'm more focused on this year and accomplishing the goals that we have set out - winning games."
Odell was more misunderstood than anything, his popularity made him a easy target. Josh Norman was proof, he spoke Odell's name enough to get interviews and headlines, the only down fall of speaking someone's name negative way so much was you had to constantly keep up the act and the drama. He just refused to play into any of it.
"It's cool, we better than that." He said bending over and picking Sonny up off the floor. "They'll love you or they'll hate you." He continued.
"That's how you know you killing the game." Sr said mixing up bowls of dog food.
Preseason had finally come, four games set to get the people excited for the season. After a morning practice he had all day and night to relax before heading over to the MetLife stadium the next morning to host The Miami Dolphins, the best way to do that was to watch the Olympic Games and enjoy the company of his father and younger brother.
"You ready to watch Massy?" Odell asked smiling at Sonny, picking him up and setting him on his lap. "Say Massy."
Sonny smiled "Shassy" he did his best to repeat what he heard as he looked down fishing his little fingers showing more interested in his bag of lucky charms cereal.
Odell chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. "Close enough."

The women walked across the field in bright blue warm-up's, each one donning their own pair of cleats. Odell watched Massy on the large screen playfully warm up kicking and juggling a ball back and forth between Kristie and Alex, he ran his hand of his head and sighed out of frustration, he promised himself he wouldn't overreact but he couldn't help but think about the possibility of her being traded.
"What's going on? Why you looking like that?" Sr said walking around the couch and sitting down on the opposite end. He ran his hand over Sonny's curls and smiled then sat back shoving his other hand in a large back of chips.
"Nothing, just thinking too hard." Odell said running his hand over his head again.
"About?" Sr asked before shoving chips in his mouth. There wasn't much Odell kept from his parents and this was no different, he'd take advice from anyone close to him at this point, he went silent and focused on the television. USA and China team members ran up and down the field, their main focus being a little white ball, going back and forth in the first semifinals.
"She's just so fast! You can not let Arias get in front of you! The minute she steps out you can kiss that ball goodbye."
"Exactly! I mean she just gets out there and dares you to keep up. There's no catching her!"
A slight smile crossed his face hearing the comments about Massy. "Ace might be getting traded."
"Traded!? When she tell you this!? What team?" Sr sat up straight looking at his oldest son, unable to read his face he began to look extremely concerned.
"She didn't. Her teammate did..." Odell stopped himself from saying exactly who that teammate was the last thing he needed was his dad finding out he was within three feet of Sophie.
"Oh nah..." Sr waved his hand brushing off Odell's concern. "If she didn't personally tell you then I wouldn't worry about it. You know you're the first person she'd tell."
Odell held tighter to Sonny as he tried to get off of his lap, toys that laid in the center of the living room floor seemed to be more interesting than what was being shown on tv and what his father and brother were talking about. "Yea I know that, I'm not worried about that. I'm just... What if one of us do get traded!? You know what if we're already married? Or what if she gets pregnant and I end up getting traded? I mean I want to be a Giant for my whole career, that's the only team I see myself playing for... It's the only NFL team I've played for, but s**t happens what if she really does get traded..."
Odell Sr ran his hand over his bald head, he took a deep breath but kept his eyes on the game, USA had managed to push themselves up 2-0 in just the first half. "Well these are things y'all have to talk about you know? Y'all are both athletes y'all gotta prepare for things like that even if they may not happen anytime soon, but it's always good to have a plan, but there may come a time when you two are living in different cities." Sr said before placing another chip in his mouth. Once again Odell was delivered a harsh dose of reality. He and Massy had been living in a fairy tale of just being together with one another that they didn't realize their lives could change at the hands of a single trade.
