"What's going on with this trade!? This is a big deal Ace!" Odell was trying his best to split his attention between the LSU vs Wisconsin opening game and FaceTime with Massy.
"How you know about the trade!?" Massy c****d her head back with a frown. She looked down at her plate of food and shuffled through what she wanted. "I mean it's not that bad, I'll be with Kristie or Megan, or Christina. So either way I'm still on a loaded team." She shrugged her shoulders while looking down at her plate.
"GAHDAMNIT! WHAT THE FICK!? COME ON!..." Odell stood up yell at the tv in frustration. "What do you mean you'll be alright! What the hell!? Massy this is a trade! Like no longer playing in the same city!" Odell's frustration grew as he watched his college football team continue to take hit after hit.
"Well excuse me, not every sport can be fancy and have two New York teams. Jesus." Massy rolled her eyes completely unbothered both unaware what either one was talking about.
"How are you this calm about this!? What is wrong with you? What are we going to do Ace how are we going to figure this s**t out!?" Odell looked at Massy through his iPhone his thick eyebrows frowned and his face scrunched. Mass looked back at him shrugging her shoulders.
"I mean I'm going to keep playing, Alex is going to keep playing, I don't know what the f**k WE got to figure out?" Massy was still just as confused as Odell was.
"We got a lot to do wi... Hold on what are you talking about Alex for? What she got to do with US." Odell said pulling his attention from the tv and giving it all to Massy.
"Uh I'm talking about Alex because she's the one that might be getting trade, duh." Massy confessed looking at Odell she frowned at him, even though she wasn't with him in person she could literally see the tension and weight lift from his shoulders. "That's why I asked you how did you know about the trade? It's not even final! It was just a discussion. They're trading defenders. They're thinking about swapping Alex for Megan Rapinoe. Alex uses her body as a defender, Megan uses her speed, they just think her style of play would fit better." Massy confessed more about the undisclosed details. Odell took a deep breath and held it, he leaned forward on his knees and let the air out then ran his hands over his curls. Massy paused noticing his reaction "Odell, who told you I was getting traded?" She asked sounding suspicious. He closed his eyes and pressed his thumb and index finger into them, he knew he'd have to answer her eventually but the continued to remain quiet. "Odell." She spoke again already knowing who it was.
"Sophie."
She rolled her eyes and sat back in her chair trying to keep herself from getting angry. "Why was Sophie able to tell you this bullshit?"
Odell licked his lips and looked directly at Massy, the game had become distant noise. "Brad and I went to a show, she was there and came up to me congratulated me on our engagement, did her little taunting, then dropped the bullshit on me before leaving."
She pressed her lips together and nodded her head letting him know she heard him. "Of course she did." Massy shook her head. "She sure does aim to please doesn't she." Odell could also tell Massy's teeth were beginning to hurt by how hard she was clenching them.
"Ace..." Odell whispered over the noise of the tv, LSU had yet to pull forward still dragging behind Wisconsin. He quickly looked up at the tv, rolled his eyes them looked back at his phone.
"I'm fine." She smiled, genuinely, a little too genuinely. "I'm good, I'm not going to let it bother me. I've got a gold medal to win, I'm not worried about it." She shrugged her shoulders pressing her lips together showing Odell just how unbothered she was. "But I gotta go, I got practice, I love you!"
Odell gave his classic smile. "I love you more. No luck needed." Massy smiled and winked her eye before disconnecting the FaceTime call. He rested his elbow on his knee and brought his face to his hand rubbing his eyes trying to take the tension of a developing headache away. "God, please don't let Ace kill that girl." He mumbled a small prayer to himself knowing Massy all too well.

A surprise that only a true momma's boy could appreciate. It had been weeks since Heather physical shown her face around Odell. Watching him warmup, putting on the usual show that he and equipment manager Skiba always delivered to the fans before each game.
Standing at 5 foot 4 and 140 pounds there was no wonder why Skiba didn't have his own New York Giants jersey, disregarding the fact that he never played quarterback at any level a day in his life yet fans crammed the 'Pepsi' corner of the stadium to catch him throwing passes back and forth to Odell. But it was Skiba's poor throwing skills that lead Odell to picking him, helping him practice some of the most impossible catches to warm his body up.
With Skiba flinging the ball errantly on purpose, he caught footballs thrown five feet over his head, 10 yards in front of him, inches behind his head or millimeters from the ground. Odell would lie on his back, facing away from Skiba, and snag passes thrown just inches in-front of his face as he does bicycle kicks. Some passes wobble haphazardly or tumble end over end. There was really no telling where the ball would end up after Skiba tossed it up but that was how Odell liked it.
One minute mark hit till preseason kickoff in a game. Week 1 of football had finally made its presence known, Odell would not only got to cheer his teammates on but also his best friend and college teammate Jarvis. A bond between both men that had developed in high school, grew in college, and remained strong in the pros, both men kneeled in-front of one another taking a knee, Odell's head to Jarvis's shoulder, Jarvis's head to Odell's shoulder as they lead one another into a prayer.
Receiver Myles White and running back Rashad Jennings would replace Odell and Victor while back up quarterback Ryan Nassib replaced Eli. Decisions made by coach Ben McAdoo in order to keep his star players from any form of injuries. McAdoo had made a point that preseason was a test run, and that test run showed exactly what areas the Giants lacked in as they were defeated 27-10.
