Chapter 59

Brazil caused a upset in the second game of the semifinals knocking Canada out the rankings and sending them home. This was not a game that was going to be easy, being the number one team in the world and facing the number two team was bound to be a back and forth game. But these were the moments she lived for. These were the type of games she flourished in, this was why she was an athlete. After a morning practice followed by an hour of watching their past games with Brazil they figured out their strategy and stuck with. She had six hours to kill before she was back on the field for a night practice, the best way to kill those hours was to spend them with her mother. "What is wrong with you! Why do have on a Wisconsin jersey?" Massy laid on her stomach allowing the sun to tan her back while she waited for her mother to come do and join her she held the phone out from her face looking at Odell confused.  "I lost a bet." He said emotionless. Massy went silent, she scrunched up her face and c****d her head to the side. "You look like an idiot." She finally said. "Trust me, I know." He rolled his eyes. "You gotta wear that thing all day?" She asked still frowning. Odell looked down at the phone screen watching her. He paused admiring the the view he had of her cleavage that was only covered by her bikini top. He bit his bottom lip realizing she was talking to him. "Unfortunately." "Who did this to you? Jonathan?... This seem like some s**t he'd do." Massy giggled a little. "Yup." "Well at least he gave you my number!" She said happily trying to make the pain of wearing a rival football team's jersey all day less annoying. She smiled but couldn't help but laugh when she saw how stale Odell's face  "Well hopefully you spend all day at the center and you don't have to go out in public." "I'm putting something over this s**t if I go out in public! I don't care if it's 90 degrees or not!" "You going to be there all day?" She asked. "I think so, E and coach got all the receivers watching practice and game footage." He paused and looked up from the phone screen answer a question from one of his teammates. "I know how you feel, we just did the same thing. We're at two-a-days. I got night practice at seven and have to be in bed by nine." She said pushing her sunglasses further up the bridge of her nose. "Wooow. You at the Olympics or back in college?" Odell laughed, knowing all to well of the strict curfew rules that he once found himself and teammates breaking when he was in college. He went silent again and licked his lips. "Your boobs look so good right now." He shook his head. "Odell!" Massy frowned, fixing her earbuds then adjusting her top. "Whhaaa? They do." He whined. "When you get back... Oh my god... I can't wait!" "What is wrong with you!?" Massy laughed frowning again at a clearly sexually frustrated Odell. "I'm serious, I've never beat my d**k this much, since you left, I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel like the dogs know what I'm doing too, every time I kick them out the room, then I let them back in they all just be sitting there at the door giving me a side eye. I need help." He confessed with a serious face. Massy couldn't help but laugh, she was well on the verge of crying. "You are disgusting!" She trying to control her volume. "Ace, this is a judge free zone. I'm speaking to you in confidence." He spoke to her with his dry humor. "Ok ok I'm sorry!" She cleared her throat and straightened her face. "Are you at least thinking about me when you do it?" "Yes, you and Jennifer Lopez." He confessed again. "J.Lo!? Nice pick. I heard she likes younger guys, and guys that can dance." Odell raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself. "She single?" Massy frowned, not in a jealous way, but as if she was trying to think of an accurate answer. "No I don't think so, I think she's still dating her background dancer." She paused again. "I think his name is Casper." Odell frowned, he rolled his eye up looking left and right then looked back at his phone. "Casper?... Like the ghost?" He genuinely asked. Massy rolled her eyes. "Good bye Odell." She said. "What!? That was a legit question." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How's dad, I haven't seen him but for split seconds when I look in the crowd." Massy said cutting into her chicken. Cynthia took a breath and raising her fork to the air. "Well let's see. He's completely obsessed with the men's basketball team he's been to every game when he's not at yours, he keeps talking about how they have nothing on the 92 and 96 Olympic Dream Team. He's been trying to get ahold of the Olympic committee to get football as an Olympic sport, apparently he feels that Odell and Eli also need gold medals, and... He's been telling people that Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky are not humans, but are mermaids instead." Massy frowned and squinted her eyes. "God he is so embarrassing." "The man is out of his mind Massy." Cynthia confirmed. "And what about yours?" She teased with a smile. Massy couldn't help but laugh. She copied her moms actions. "Well let's see, preseason is officially hear, they played Miami but lost, so Odell is a little annoyed with that, you know how he is with competition. The media is still hyping up the Josh Norman thing, Sophie told him I was being traded... To Kansas, and... We're just really missing one another. This is the longest we've been apart, and I don't think I like it." Cynthia looked concerned with the ending of her confession, she placed her fork down on her plate and smiled. "Sophie? As in ex girlfriend, your teammate Sophie?" Massy rolled her eyes. "Yea, that Sophie. Cynthia frowned. "So you don't think you can spend a month away from one another every four years." She looked down at her plate of half eaten food and thought to herself. "The longest we spent apart was four days, at the most. Either I have and away game or he does, we're lucky enough to both play for New York teams so we can live with one another, it's not like we have to make time for one another because we see each other all the time."  She shrugged her shoulders. "Massy? Look at me." She looked Cynthia in the eyes but tried to keep a soft face doing her best to hide what was really bothering her about the distance. "Odell isn't your father. Don't put that insecurity on him, especially if he hasn't done anything."
