It was very rare that Massy or Odell answered any fan questions involving the other but Massy's sense of humor sometimes caused her to slip. Her constant reminder of Odell throughout social media had her missing him beyond belief.
Her flight back to LA from Vegas was quicker than she expected. She smiled at a shirtless Odell as she walked in the middle of his fitting for the ESPY's. "My favorite." His smile lit up the room. "Look how cute you are."
"I missed you my handsome!" She wrapped her arms around his waist as his arms went around her shoulders, squeezing her body into a tight bear hug.
"I missed you too beautiful." He said, then kissed the top of her head multiple times. "How was the games?" He held onto her body refusing to let her go, not that Massy protested she continued to hold him even interlocking her fingers behind his back.
"It was really good." She lifted her head form his chest. "D'lo won MVP for one of the games but the second game they got knocked out by Philly."
The stylist entered back into the room with a smile, multiple articles of clothing draped over his left arm. Mike Amiri and Odell had a similar liking when it came to clothing, the warn, tattered, hole filled clothing had been made popular by rapper Kanye West when he introduced the world to his clothing line Yeezy Season and the trend on grew as different stylists took their own stab at the style. Odell wasn't the only athlete who took a major liking to Mike's style of clothing. Jordan was also one of his major clients. He smiled at Massy then approached her for a hug.
"How are love." He said pressing his cheek to hers. "And why aren't I dressing you as well for the ESPYS?" He asked with an arched eyebrow.
Massy shyly smiled. "Because I'm already being dressed by Vanessa Bryant."
Mike stepped back and pressed the palm of his hand on his chest in surprise. "Well excuse me. Toche honey." She joked as he hung the collection of shirts on a metal rack.
Massy backed out of the way allowing both men to work and vibe with one another. "So is Summer League over?" Odell asked as he looked up while zipping up a pair of black ripped jeans. Massy leaned forward on the couch, her small frame allowed her to sit Indian style on the chic black couch.
"No, just the teams that get knocked out. You know how that s**t works." Odell nodded his head, then pulled a gray shirt over his head. "But, the Drew League starts in like a week or two."
"Jordan doing that one right?" Odell questioned.
Massy nodded her head. "Yea, I'll probably go see him in like two games, but that's all I can do." Massy leaned back on the couch. "I mean I leave on the twenty seventh." Odell frowned, making a very unpleased facial expression, Massy pressed her lips together in a frown, yet Odell could see her excitement and nervousness all at the same time. "Then Ima miss OVO Bounce, he'll be playing in that again this year... Missin all my bruddas games." She said mocking Odell's slang and shaking her head.
Odell gave her a look of no concern, and shrugged his shoulders. "That's what happens when you wanna be an Olympian. Miss out on all the fun shit."
Massy pressed her lips together. "Welp, gotta do what you gotta do." She shrugged her shoulders. "Dell, what are you doing!? It's like 103 in the shade, it's July! Why do you got all them clothes on!?" Massy frowned and c****d her head back changing the topic.
"This is fashion." Odell said turning around and looking pleased with himself as he fixed the collar of his leather jacket.
"Well... you better fashion yo way outta some of them layers... Before you catch heatstroke." Massy suggested nonchalantly with a serious face.
Odell frowned but couldn't hold in his laugh, he smacked his lips. "Shuuuut up!" Massy began shaking her head as Mike also joined in on the laughing. "She get on my nerves." Odell said laughing and looking back at himself in the mirror.
The loud sound of an electric air pump caught Odell's attention as he typed out a i********: caption under his picture, he slightly sat up and turned his head trying to get a view of what was going on. Massy was too fare on the side of the concrete deck for him to see what she was doing. The machine like sound stop, only the sound of birds and near by neighbors caught his ears, then the distinct sound of a water hose caught his ears. He frowned trying to figure out what Massy could possibly be up to, but knowing her it could of been anything, Odell never knew what he was going to get when it came to Massy and her "ideas."
"ACE!" He yelled, then waited a few seconds for her response. "MASSY!" He yelled again, his voice with a bit more bass to it. "MASSY OLIVIA!" He yelled one last time, all three dogs sat up as his voice grew its loudest and deepest, but still no response. Odell sighed and sat up. "Let's go see what this girl is up to..." He stood up but the three dogs remained still, they looked up at Odell then simultaneously laid their heads back down not interested. Odell frowned then shrugged his shoulders. "I'don't blame y'all." Odell said in understand shaking his head and walking down the hard wood steeps of the back deck.
He walked around the side of their large California home and frowned at his discovery. "I been yelling your name! What are you doing?" He asked.
Massy looked up "I couldn't hear you. I'm sorry." She said turning her head between watching the water fill up the small pool and Odell.
"What is this? What are you doing?"
"I bought a little pool." She said calmly.
"For what? Massy. There's a indoor pool and a outdoor pool." Odell stretched a large muscular arm out and pointed a long finger in the direction of the houses pools. "Ace you got two pools. I personally made sure you had two pools, because I know how much you love water and swimming..."
"I know! And that's why I love you so much because you always make sure I'm ok. You spoil me, and I love it." Massy added with a smile as she continued to fill up the little pool.
"So why?" He asked again.
Massy looked down at the pool then back at Odell. "Because, I don't have a pool that is this deep... This depth."
Odell remained silent trying to grasp the woman that was soon to be his wife and her train of thought. He folded his arms across his chest looking down at the pool as Massy smiled at him, he scratched his neck, then ran his hand over the left side of his thick beard. "What's the noodle for?" He asked curiously finally breaking his silence after several minutes.
Massy looked back down at the pool for several long minutes, trying to figure out to herself why she possibly needed a flotation device. She went silent then finally looked Odell straight in the eyes and with a straight face not the crack of a smile in sight. "Survival." She finally said.
Odell's mind was blown away at the depth and reasoning of their current conversation as if she was at risk of drowning in twelve inches of water. He sighed and put his head down and walked away. Massy frowned and looked back down at the water level making sure it was to her liking. "Hey I don't like your negative judgementality!" She said watching him walk away.
"Massy, you graduated from UCLA at the top of your class. That's not a word!" He nonchalantly said back to her as he continued to walk away.
"It is today!... The word of the day is judgementality... And who has a judging mentality... Odell Cornelious Beckham JR!" She yelled making sure he heard her yelling his name as he closed the sliding glass door behind him.
