Close to meeting her

Aaron’s POV Aaron had just arrived at the hospital, knowing full well that the media would be present. To avoid the unwanted attention, he quickly teleported himself to the nearest restroom and then made his way into the room where the girl had been left. She was lying there, pale and fragile, but there was something unique about her. His suspicions were confirmed when he looked at her again. A wave of unease washed over him as he muttered to himself, “Why have I been dreaming of you?” As he approached her, something strange caught his attention. Her soul… it wasn’t stable. There was an undeniable energy swirling around her—something that felt tethered to him. Why me? he thought, as he took a seat beside her. “I have to take you to my mother,” he murmured under his breath. “She’s the only one who can properly examine you.” He remembered the girl’s critical state. Magic was something Aaron had long since accepted into his life, and he knew exactly how to use it. Leaning closer, he transferred some of his own energy into her. It was up to her to use it, but he hoped the magic would accelerate her healing. Something inside him told him that this was more than just a chance encounter—there was a connection, a link he couldn’t quite explain. ⸻ Two Weeks Later It had been two weeks, and she still hadn’t woken up. Aaron felt an overwhelming sense of worry gnawing at him. Every day since he’d brought her to his mansion, he’d called for updates on her condition. Every day, the same news. Nothing had changed. His mind was elsewhere, his usual focus on work completely gone. He’d called his assistant to cancel all meetings—a first for him. He could barely concentrate on anything else. Dreams of her had been tormenting him, and now, each dream felt more vivid, more real. It wasn’t just sleep. He could feel her presence, the connection growing stronger, and somehow, it brought a strange kind of comfort. Yet, the whole situation felt so strange to him. He’d had private investigators look into her past. The information he gathered only deepened the mystery, but nothing could explain why he felt this strange pull towards her. ⸻ Two Days Later Aaron was sitting in his office when his phone rang. The screen flashed: Mom. He answered immediately. “Hello, my boy,” his mother’s voice came through, warm but hurried. “She finally woke up, but… she has no memory of anything.” Aaron didn’t wait for her to finish. His mind was already racing. He slammed his phone down, grabbed his coat, and rushed out the door. There was no time to waste. ⸻ Anna’s POV The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes was the blinding light above me. I winced, trying to adjust, but my head—oh, my head—pounded like I’d been hit by a truck. The pain was unlike anything I’d ever felt before. I grabbed my head with both hands, trying to stifle the scream that built in my throat. It was then that a woman in her early forties entered the room, concern written all over her face. “Oh, young lady, you’re finally awake,” she said, her voice gentle. “How do you feel?” “I—” I tried to speak, but my throat was dry, so dry it felt like sandpaper. “Water… please.” The woman nodded and quickly called for another. Moments later, a second woman, probably in her fifties, entered, holding a cup of water. I drank it all in one go, feeling the cool liquid ease the discomfort in my throat. “How do you feel now?” the first woman asked, still watching me with concern. “Not great,” I managed to say, my voice rough. “Who are you? Where am I? What happened to me?” The older woman smiled warmly, though there was something knowing in her expression. “My child, I am your boyfriend’s mother. We haven’t properly introduced ourselves yet. But let me call him in. I wonder how my boy managed to find such a beautiful and wel…
