Chapter3 The love for a sister

539 Words
Aaron’s POV “Seriously, Ivy? Do you really think I have time for your games?” I said, still shocked that she had the nerve to bring up something so trivial. Her stupid friend, Morgan, was the one who had caused me so much trouble in the past. I had to go to the other world for punishment because I used my magic to search for her when she ran away with her boyfriend. Because of that, our engagement was called off, and I had a hard time in that other world. Ivy brought her hand to her head, massaging her temples. “Aaron, do you think I’m playing?” she asked, her face serious. But it didn’t faze me. I turned my head leisurely, not wanting to face her. “How am I supposed to know? I’m not a mind reader,” I replied, my voice dismissive. “Aaron, please. This is serious. Her phone’s been off for three days, and she’s not on social media. Her parents and relatives haven’t heard from her. The last time we spoke, she was supposed to meet a guy she met online.” I looked at Ivy, sensing the desperation in her voice. “I know you had a rough time in the other world, and I’m sorry for that,” she continued. “But you’re no longer a teenager. You’re soon to be king, and I don’t think Dad can stop you anymore. You know the rules, and no one can see us. I know you can help me find her.” Her words hit me harder than I expected. Ivy’s eyes were full of sincerity, and despite my frustration, I couldn’t ignore her. She was my sister, and I loved her deeply. She had been through so much, raising her son alone. She deserved my help. I paused, contemplating. “Okay, I’ll help you,” I said, making my decision. Ivy’s face lit up with relief, but I had one condition. “But you have to do something for me in exchange. You need to talk to Mom for me.” Her expression darkened at the mention of our mother, but she nodded reluctantly. “Okay,” she said, her voice tight with unease. We both knew how difficult it was to talk to our mother. “I’ll see you tomorrow morning, and we’ll go over everything then,” I told her. She hesitated, then spoke up. “What? No! You want me to go now?” “Yes. No arguments.” I replied, my tone firm. She wanted my help, and this was the price. Ivy gave me a look of frustration but didn’t say another word. She left silently, closing the door behind her. I lay down on the couch, trying to relax. I was exhausted, but I knew I had to help my sister. If Morgan was truly abducted, this would be dangerous. Ivy would follow me wherever I went, and the sooner I found Morgan, the sooner I could stop her from getting involved. I closed my eyes, trying to clear my head. For now, it was best that Ivy slept while I looked into it. The stakes were too high for me to ignore.
