Blake then removed his ear ring from the spot of his tattooed body. And the electronic voice suddenly stopped, the dark room returned to its bright white light. Between the silence, you could see tension between both the guys.
"Okay, okay I get it, its some big secret organisation trying to do good deeds, but why the kidnappings? Couldn't you just recruit them the usual way, applications and interviews, why such length to complicate things?" Derek asked in frustration, but suddenly it hit him. It was a big deal. If many organisations knew about the ancient technology fought over who would own it, war would bring the world to a new age, and not a good one. Even with today's technology and its advances, people would've paid with their lives for one; fame? Power? Money? Why is it always about the big three... where was the simple truth about purity of good deeds, honesty, loyality and love? He asked himself all of those questions while staring at the blank room. His mate saw his absent mind and took it as a chance to ask him something back.
"We first started small, in the shadows, trying to recruit people on a small scale, but to many eyes and ears. We started to do things our way. Secret meetings and we don't kidnap them. They come of their own free will, they are paid for their work. But some of them do not agree with our view of things and we deal with them in silence. We still kidnap them. It's no use talking about it because in a few weeks we are nearly at the end of our part, but something tried to mess with our advances, so that's why we started to be engaged so suddenly and on such a massive scale. Mate, I know we are not on good terms, we still have things to discuss, but can you tell me something?" the silence was still present but the question remained.
"You want to know the truth about my blank past, even when you looked at most of it? Without considering how it would make me feel. Why should I tell you anything?" the other said with a frustrated mind. 'How can I work with those guys?
"My question has nothing to do with the Boss and The Company. It's" he paused, "it's just we never had an opportunity to find a guy like that. He got a chance to hide himself soo far from the world. Our technology is so advanced right now that it is impossible. Why such lengths to disappear?" asked truthfully with an honest expression the guy who, even, in his status, exhausted and half naked, looked a bit innocent.
"Damn you, damn you all to h#ll, why should I? It's not your concern. Now get to the point of what I am doing here in the first place? And I want the truth, not this sci-fi stuff?" It showed on his face notice of anger and a little notice if sadness in his eyes 'What is he really looking for' tought both of them at the same time
"Chill, I was going to get to the point, but wanted to know you better. Still, it's still a proposition for work, not like the one in the hologram preview, but something more for a person with your set of skills" Blake was trying to be sensible even if Drake didn't believe a word from his mouth.
"We have a mole in our mists. We dont know who or what they are. We tried everything but, to no avail, we sent the Renegade, Simulacrums in the first stages, Advance Intelligence and everything was just out of the question, no lead. Then we found you. You were like a bright star. A person that can do what you do is probably the one that can find the one messing with our jobs" honest to the bone, was Blake there, right now 'but what if this was another of their plays?' thought Drake himself...
"Sounds a little bit fishy? How can't you guys find one guy with your gadget, and think I can?" he was straightforward with his questions ' no room for mess, not now.'
"We don't know for sure, even our boss is not dealing well with all of it."
"So you are telling me, all of this is everything. There's no catch? You just want my experience of finding that thing which messes with your work?"the guy was letting his anger and steam off, but you could have seen him getting calmer.
"Yes, that's all" the other other agreed with him.
"Well, in that case." His thoughts were going straight out. 'If they were willing for me to join them, and at the same pace I could find my target, it's a win win for me, if she wasn't silenced or worse.'
"Where do I sign?" said Derek with a sharp look in his eyes.
