Chapter 5: The Unexpected! (2)

855 Words
After the little confrontation between Blake and Drake, multiple masked, all geared up guards started to pop up around them, from the nothingness. Probably the same people that Blake and Vik work for. The Company! Drake thought to himself. 'But if this is where it's going to end, before seeing what all the fuzz is about, then why not engage in mutual exchange. I would do his bidding for just this moment, then enter that mysterious organization, only to find what I was looking for. It would be messy, but if I don't do it right, they will kill me for sure.' "Aah, poor lad, you've been saved." said the other, with a frown. He was still looking exhausted from the little fight, with sweat all over his body, then he ripped his shirt off, showing his muscles and tattooed body and threw it at the guard's faces without even flinching. Then they shocked him with an electric baton, but he was still standing there like a God figure. He probably can take many more hits, because of his durability, even when tired. "Number: #25253 report for duty, what is the hold up!?" said one of the masked guards. You could barely hear him, but he sounded serious. Derek probably messed up their plans with that shot earlier. "Not much, we are just playing" answered the other casually, when getting his butt up, lending a hand to his fighting buddy. "Don't be a puss now, take it, and let's talk." but was not even surprised when the gesture was not returned and the other guy was still sitting on the ground, looking at the scene from afar. "Oh, and guys, look at Vik, that tranquilizer is not something ordinary that can take her down so easy" with a worried voice he expressed his toughts, because he knew her like the back of his hands, and she was a tough gal. One of the guards pushed some buttons on his wrist, opened his jacket and seemingly pulled some kind of scanner that they then used on her. "Number: #845-86742 is in unconscious mode. She has multiple chemicals and signs of different venom inside of her blood stream. It is a limited dose that is easy to treat! Guys, let's move out, and sir, if you don't follow your programme, next time we will send the Renegade! Number: #5277 won't be happy to hear this!" exclaimed one of the guards with a sigh. "Move out boys!" said another, and all of them vanished in the blink of an eye with the girl in their possession. "So you are learning more and more about us, and we still don't know why you are looking for that gal, but whatever. She is probably an insignificant peon on the real big one's plan." Blake knew bluffing wouldn't make it easy for Drake, or even to join them, but they too didn't know what he was looking for, only that his skills were needed, and the boss wanted him, especially, him! Drake was holding up, he was stuck on his head again. "First thing first, they knew everything, second thing. I'm in a big mess. Third and last, I can't improvise because I don't have enough information, nor anything I can think about now. The only solution is to follow that nasty attitude of his and not make another mistake, just do it like the waves, calm and follow, then, splash, when we hit the rocks!" "I understand most of it, so are we going to talk or what?" he said in a bit of a reserved voice, only agreeing, but not in reality. "So, the thing is like this, our boss wants you, for what I don't really care, but for this you have to pass a test, and that test has begun the moment you entered Denegoroso's place. You somehow don't look surprised. You were probably expecting something like that, but not that dramatic, with the teleportation and everything else. By now, you've seen our advanced technology, and this is due to our boss's influence on everything you can think of. We still don't know much about it, but I will climb the ladder to the upper sectors where we don't hide behind numbers, but can have our names back. But for now, we sweep the floors with people like you, who try to mess up our work. Oh, and by the way, I'm surprised at your dexterity. Most of the people I've fought with can't even stand up after my charm." he laughed with his obnoxious laugh even with his half naked, sweaty body sculpted like some ancient Greek sculpture. And at the same time, here, now, in the empty white room, alone with him, he looked more serious than most of their past moments. He was out of this world. "And what is the next part of the test, if I may ask?" Derek asked quriously while smirking, because he knew pretty damn well, that this was just a big theatrics him, them, everything, just to get to find that mystery woman he was so focused on.
