The King's Desperation.
Back in the Lycan kingdom.
The kingdom buzzed with frenzied activity as the guards discovered my disappearance.
Panic spread like wildfire among them, their voices rising in a noise of confusion and fear.
Guard 1: “She's gone! The slave has escaped!”
Guard 2: “How is this possible? We were supposed to keep a close eye on her!”
Guard 3: “The King will not be happy about this. We need to find her, and fast!”
It didn't take long for the news to reach Adolphus Ocampus, the Lycan king, who listened to the reports with a mask of indifference that barely concealed his sheeting anger.
King Adolphus: “You fools! How could you let her slip away? She was my only chance at redemption!”
The guards recounted the events leading to my escape, their voices trembling with fear as they explained how I had managed to slip away unnoticed.
Guard 4: “Your Majesty, she disappeared right under our noses. It's as if she vanished into thin air. We searched everywhere, but there's no sign of her.”
Adolphus's eyes narrowed as he listened, a dangerous glint betraying his true emotions. The news of my flight only added fuel to the burning resentment he felt towards me, intensifying his determination to find me and bring me back, not out of love or concern, but to quell his wounded pride.
King Adolphus: “I will not rest until she is found. She will pay for betraying me!”
Meanwhile, hidden away in the safety of Fabian's cabin, I clung to my newborn twins, Matilda and Sultan, marveling at the miracles I held in my arms. Fabian, too, felt the weight of my situation, understanding the extent of my escape and the potential repercussions it could have on our newfound family.
Fabian: “We must remain cautious, my love. Adolphus will stop at nothing to find us. Our priority is to keep our children safe.”
We kept a low profile, venturing outside only under the cover of darkness, careful to avoid any prying eyes.
Adolphus, enraged by my escape, ordered an extensive search throughout the kingdom. Guards scoured every corner, turning over rocks and bushes in a desperate attempt to locate me.
Guard 5: “Spread out! We need to find the slave and bring her back to the King.”
Their efforts were relentless, but despite their determination, I remained elusive, expertly hidden by Fabian's knowledge of the forest and commitment to our safety.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, yet Adolphus's men could find no trace of me. Frustration gnawed at the guards, their failure to capture me casting a shadow over their reputation. The kingdom's whispers of my escape grew quieter, replaced by rumors of my demise or disappearance into the vast wilderness.
As the days passed, I continued to nurture Sultan and Matilda, their laughter becoming the melody that filled our humble home. The forest provided us with sustenance, and Fabian and I found comfort in the simplicity of our lives.
Yet, beneath the surface, a storm brewed, fueled by the knowledge of the Lycan king's sins and the burning desire for justice.
One night, as we huddled together, Fabian spoke with determination.
Fabian: “We cannot hide forever, my love. The time will come when we have to face Adolphus and bring justice to this kingdom.
But for now, let us cherish our family and continue to find strength in each other.”
And so, each day, is filled with determination, affection, and the search for what is right.
As each day became night, I held Sultan and Matilda in my arms, quietly making promises about a better world.
Ruth: “You are the light that will guide us towards a brighter future, my darlings. Together, we will create a kingdom where love triumphs over darkness.”
Adolphus Ocampus had fallen gravely ill. The rejection he had dealt me had come with a heavy price, a curse that had befallen him after my escape. His condition worsened. His once imposing figure now lay frail and weakened, the darkness of his past catching up with him.
Desperate to find a cure, the Lycan king sought the guidance of the moon guardian. It was under the glow of the moon that the truth was revealed.
Moon Guardian: “Adolphus, your illness is a result of your forceful rise to power and rejection of your destined mate. Only by acknowledging your bond with Ruth can you hope to be cured.”
To break the curse and save his life, the Lycan king must find me and bring me back to the kingdom. Fueled by desperation, he ordered his guards to comb the entire kingdom one more time, searching for me, sparing no effort in the pursuit.
As the news of the King's illness spread, fear rippled through the kingdom. The once-powerful ruler was a mere shadow of his former self, his authority slipping away with each passing day.
The citizens whispered of a curse, of the consequences that befell those who defied the ancient laws.
The guards rummaged every inch of the kingdom, their steps echoing with determination.
They interrogated villagers, overturned every stone, and searched the densest parts of the forest.
Guard 6: “We have to find the Slave. The King's life depends on it.”
I, Ruth, however, remained one step ahead, hidden in the depths of the wilderness, shielded by Fabian's expertise and our determination to protect our family.
We lived a life of constant vigilance, always on the move, avoiding any show of a routine that could be tracked.
Every rustle of leaves, and every distant footstep sent shivers down my spine.
But in the arms of Fabian, and with Matilda and Sultan by my side, I found the strength to endure.
The guards' efforts grew more desperate, their frustration evident. Yet, they could never point out our location.
I clung to the shadows, hidden by the dense foliage, leaving no trace for them to follow. Our existence became a testament to resilience, a defiance against the twisted fate that had once bound me to the Lycan king.
Ruth: “We will not be defeated, my love. Our love and determination will guide us through these dark times. And one day, justice will prevail.” I said to Fabian one night, as we were about retiring to sleep.
