CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE –––––––– “YOUR FRIENDS HAVE ARRIVED,” a young nurse whispered in Nick’s ear, and the man rose. He had been sitting and watching Darcy for the last few hours. Nick hadn’t moved from the chair set next to her bed since the emergency doctor finished patching Darcy, and the nurses moved her to a private room. Nick thanked the nurse, and with a last glance at Darcy, who was sleeping fitfully, he went out and strode toward the waiting room. Besides his friends, he noticed only another small group of three people in there, gathered in the corner of the room. They talked among themselves and didn’t pay any attention to the newcomer.
