(Lisanna)
I continued driving as we finally reached the little chapel at the end of the countryside. I do not know how my sister discovered this one but I am relieved that she found this earlier than I have ever expected. I looked around and finally on the map which I was following all along, the roads were getting shorter as the plains were starting to get wide as it could.
“Where are we?” I asked to her as I finally looked on Risanna.
“I also do not have any idea.” She answered to me as I quickly stepped on the break, stopping the car before we could go to somewhere else I am not familiar with.
“How did you know this place?” I asked her.
“I did not. Mr. Locke introduced this to me.” she answered as I scoffed in disbelief.
“What the hell? Why did you tell me?” I exclaimed and she also scoffed in return.
“Because you did not ask anything.” she blatantly answered and I shook my head as I realized that we were all manipulated to go here without any kind of effort.
I was surprised hearing a knock on the window beside me that I quickly looked at the direction of it. I saw Mr. Locke smiling down at me as bright as the day. I pulled down the window slowly as it finally showed our faces to him.
“Welcome twins, I did not know that you would be this early. All of the preparations were not yet done but you can come in.” he kindly said to us, and besides, he called us ‘twins. I cannot believe my ears but I guess, he was not only referring to my sister, he includes me.
“Thank you, I guess. But, how did you know that we would be here?” I asked her and he chuckles.
“Everyone knows, and everyone is here to join you for the funeral.” He answered as I stared on him without uttering any word.
“Come on, do not look at me like that. The police already shared the information about the passing of your parents, and as the Trident, we would help with everything.” He explained to me, and now that made the whole situation hard for me. I forced myself to give him a little smile. I nodded and stopped the engine of the car.
“Of course, that would be a great help. Thank you.” I answered as I get off from the car.
“Lisanna.” I heard Ris called me from behind.
“So, where would be that chapel you are talking about?” I asked to Mr. Locke and he nodded.
“This way.” He answered as he started walking ahead of us. I looked from behind of the car as I also saw everyone standing outside their car. Luke was looking on me with a huge question mark on his face and by that, I already know that he knows nothing about this.
I felt that someone held my hand it was Risanna. I nodded on her like I was giving her some assurance that there would be no other mistakes and everything will be alright. We continued walking as we reached the top of the hill, I saw a little chapel at the end of the road and I know behind me, they were all following us.
When I say 'they', I am not only referring to the gang but also the people whom I do not know. I did not have any chance to ask who they were as Mr. Locke nodded on me the moment we arrived in front of the entrance door of the chapel.
Holding Risanna's hand, I pushed the door lightly and the whole view welcomed us with both sadness and in awe. I do not know how to describe things but I am sure that everything was possible because of them. Surprisingly, the place looked like a decent funeral place for me. I did not prepare anything when I was doing the job for it. I was just thinking of putting the coffin in the middle as I was choosing what kind of flowers should I decorate for it.
"People needs people, I suppose." I heard Ris said behind me as I was absent mindedly nodding upon hearing that. We definitely need them, we need the people in this town and probably the people included in the organization of the Trident.
I may not know what kind of people they are as I was hearing not so good stories about them, but now I see their faces looking on us with huge disbelief and sympathy, maybe I should try thinking again. I do not think that I am in charge for our lives, but Risanna is so soft as far as I could think of. She will not take any of this if I will not make a move towards this reality.
"Are you really sure that no one of the group told them about this?" Ris asked to me as I looked back, the guys were standing in line at the end seats of the church. They were all looking at me innocently with also their surprised look on their faces.
They do not know anything about this funeral at all.
"Mr. Locke, tell me. How did you really know about this?" I asked to him one last time and he let out a deep sigh then smiled upon me.
"I was called by your father when the incident happened, I rushed to your house but I was already late. That is when the time I entered and he was on the ground fighting for his life. He whispered me to take care of his twins, and guess what? I am now the host of this funeral." he explained to me together with his light laugh.
I did not take some time to laugh with him, instead, tears were running down on my face as I heard the story. I may not know of that was the truth, but it really sounds like my father. I know that even if he was in verge of dying, he will still let other people take care of us like we were some weak children of innocence.
"Thank you. Thank you for honoring my father's last words and thank you for making this happen. Now, I am sure that first impressions sucks." I answered to him and he chuckles once again, a different personality on what I have seen on him last night at the housewarming.
"I know those looks from last night, my attitude is not your cup of tea." he said as I nodded and smiled.
"Come on, this is not a party but I am sure that your parents still wants you to be happy." he said as he positioned his hands towards the middle like he was telling us to walk towards those coffins.
"We will always be behind you." he finally said as I saw Risanna taking steps ahead of me. That was her first courage since what happened. I commend her for being like that as I only followed her from behind. I let her go straight to the coffins and take her time to look on our parents' faces for the last time.
"These were not their faces when I saw them on the ground." she mumbled as I finally stand beside her and looked down to see them clearly.
"How did you saw them that time?" I asked and she sadly smiled upon the coffin.
"They looked so scared and in pain. I cannot express the real emotions they got but I am sure that it is not a pleasant one." she answered as I put my arms onto her shoulders.
"But they are now in peace. Let us have our peace also." I mumbled as she holds onto my hand resting on her shoulder and nodded at me.
"That is right, They will not like us being a downer or a coward. I am sure that they will be so proud of us, overcoming what happened to them, unfortunately." she claimed as I smiled and did not take any moment to answer her back.
This might be a funeral but also a way for us to know others. I looked back once again as I scanned the faces of the people who attended this gathering. Not surprisingly enough, they were all the guys' parents and adding on top of that was Mr. Locke at the side.
What is his real role in this organization? Was he one of the elites too? I do not know what to think either.
The funeral went on as the mass started like the program was already written in the first place. I was just going with the flow as I watched on the rituals were done.
And now we are down at the eulogies, they were all staring on us like we were the most wanted people in the world. I clears my throat as I slowly stood up, when someone held onto my hand once again and it was Risanna. She stopped me from taking the first steps as she started walking in the middle and towards the side podium at the stage. I sit back down as I watched her looking on us, she flashed a little smile and grabbed the microphone out of its stand.
"I was surprised on how many of you attended this funeral without us knowing who you were actually." she started as my eyes widened in disbelief. She smirked at me and that is not a good thing.
She is not just a confident one, she was also back on being a cocky one.
I hate to say but I was to drag her down off the stage and turn the microphone off. Because I know, her next few words would not be a good one and in fact, it will be a disastrous one.
