(Lisanna)
I was literally out of my mind while walking beside him, with my hand stuck in his. I constantly looking on our hands tied, and on the way we are walking through. I could see how we walked past by those visitors, but everything was in a slow motion movement to me. I cannot react at all, I cannot even ask the reason why I have to meet his freaking parents. I know that we are together but I did not know that we are literally in a serious relationship that I ever thought I will be.
“Are you sure with this?” those words suddenly came out from my mouth.
“What?” he asked to me.
“I mean, me meeting your parents. Did we not start this with just some kind of a joke?” I said and he abruptly stopped.
“Joke? Do you still think that I am doing this for a joke?” he exclaimed to me and I could feel like, no, I can really tell that he was hurt by it.
“That is not what I meant.” I mumbled and he let go off my hand and held me on my both shoulders.
“I know that I am a jokester, you might be finding this a little cringey or out of my personality, but I like you Lisanna, okay? I am and will still be.” He firmly said to me. I was surprised. My heart flutters but mostly of me was afraid of what could become if I will continue this one.
“Alright. I was just thinking that it might be too soon.” I mumbled and he snickers.
“Nothing will be too soon if it will be about you.” He answered and smiled. Those smiles made me smile too, and in a snap, I can feel that I would be alright meeting his parents now.
I just found myself standing in front of two adults, staring on me like I was some kind of an animal behind the huge glass cage of the zoo. They are not being different, I think they are just being amaze that there is a third generation for the Kings especially that were already included in the elite.
“Oh my child, you are such a gorgeous one.” His mother exclaimed upon realizing that I am not a doll displayed.
“You are flattering me.” I answered and shyly chuckled.
“You are Lisanna, right?” his dad asked and I nodded my head for an answer.
“Are you now the head of the Trident?” he added as I was surprised by it.
“Dad!” Luke exclaimed to his dad and looked around.
“What? I did not say something wrong.” His dad said as I lightly laughs upon seeing them bicker for a while.
“I am not.” I answered and all the three of them looked towards me.
That is right, I am not the head of the Trident and neither will be the one who will inherit the throne coveted by everyone else. Also, I might be wanting to know who the culprit is, but I do not think that I should be the leader for me to do it.
“Is that so? Then, will the Kings be out of the elites then?” his mother asked and I cannot answer that as quick as I answered the previous one.
“Dad, why do you keep on asking her things like that?” Luke exclaimed and apparently was standing in front of me now, like he got someone to protect me from. I moved beside him and I hold his hand.
“Luke, it is alright, they have the right to ask me things like that.” I mumbled to him and faced his parents.
“With all due respect, I actually do not know what I would do from now on. I do not know anything about that group not until your son and his friends told me about. Honestly, I have been needing guidance, so, will you help me with it?” I continuously said to the both of them, this time, I am now in front of Luke and acting like I can do this on my own.
“You are good, kid.” His father said and that reply made me confused.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked to him and he smiled.
“From now on, you are under my shed. Your grandfather asked me to take care of you, and your twin. He said that the time will come and the rightful heir would come on its own.” He explained to me and I scoffs.
“My grandfather did what?” I gasps and he smiled, his dad.
“Welcome to the elites, Lisanna.” That was his final words of me getting hang of being called as one of the elites.
The night continues as I am still trying to familiarize myself to the families that I have invited tonight. I am currently with Luke’s family, he keeps on introducing me to other people aside from the gang’s parents. I saw Mr. Locke in the middle of the crowd and he was plainly, literally, openly, showing how he really distastes the every bit of my existence.
“Everyone this is Lisanna King and a direct granddaughter of the leader.” his dad said to everyone and they were all eyeing towards me.
“Is that the truth? Then, are you the heiress?” another man asked me that.
“No! I mean, I do not know what I will inherit.” I eagerly reacted and finally became calm as I felt that Luke’s father looked at me.
“Then, this kid do not know anything about our world. We should not let her get the throne without proper knowledge.” Mr. Locke said and some of the elders present nodded their heads like they all agreed on him. Looks like, I already know how the division of clans was based from this little conversation.
“The leader did not say anything about the heiress, specifically, he did not say anything about who would that be. But let us give her a chance, I will put her under my guidance and let us have a judgement after six months.” Luke’s dad said to all of them, some agreed and some did not take any moment to react on it.
“Make it a month, and please do not forget that she also has a twin.” Mr. Locke firmly said and he smirked on us.
I looked on Luke’s father and he was already looking right at me. He is currently asking for my opinion, I light gave him a nod and he smiled at me.
“We take it, you said it should be a month? I will also take her twin, that is my other term.” He firmly answered to Mr. Locke and he finally gave him a nod after letting out a deep sigh.
The whole party ended and I am now seeing the people leaving one at a time. It was already morning and mostly of the teens who were brought by the guys, I think they were all attending the campus and in just a few weeks I have been there, mostly days with no classes, I honestly hardly know who they are.
“Finally, everything has ended.” I heard Risanna said behind me.
“I thought you love parties?” I said to her and she let out a deep sigh.
“That is what I thought too.” She answered and walked away. When I finally saw the last person left, and that was Asley who still gave me a little look before walking away, I closed the door and finally sat on the couch.
Too much drama for a week, I looked at the second floor as I saw Ris standing there and currently looking down on me with her melancholic face. She is again crying, that one night is her little escape from the reality we are really in. We are set to hold the funeral today, only the two of us. I did not say anything to Luke or to Kaira even if I really wanted them to be there.
I stood up, walked upstairs and arrived in front of her. I gave her a right hug and she began sobbing. I know this is too hard, not for her but to me also. I see myself crying a drop of tear. I quickly wiped it off and distanced myself from her.
“Come on, we have another schedule to do with.” I said to her and she nodded.
We both went on each other’s ways as I entered my room. I entered the bathroom and take off my clothes with thinking much. I opened the shower, letting the water touch the tip of my toes as I check its temperature. When I felt that it was enough for me, I went under it and let the warm water goes down as it washes my own dirt. After an hour, I finished and wrapped my bathrobe around me. I entered into the room and opened my closet, grabbed a black dress and even some black shoes and bag, this time, I might be hating the color black for once.
I looked myself on the mirror and a faint laugh came out from me. I grabbed my purse as I went downstairs, but I was stunned to hear some noises coming down there. I slowly walked down as I peeked on the whole view of the floor. I see no one but the noises keep coming from one direction. I ran down as I arrived at the kitchen, I see my twin with everyone?
“What are you doing here?” I exclaimed and they all looked at me.
“Luke? I thought you told her already?” Brett asked Luke while still munching.
“Right, I forgot it. I introduced her to my parents and this slipped out off my head.” He answered.
“What did you say? You already introduced her to your parents?” Ashford exclaimed at the top of his lungs.
“Then, are you that serious about her?” Asley intervened.
“Of course, why would I not be?” Luke plainly answered to him.
“Whoa, too much difference for a playboy back then.” Leigh commented as Luke threw him a little tomato he is holding.
“Do you believe him?” Asley suddenly directed that question to me as I scoffed in disbelief.
“Why would you ask me that?” I asked as I slowly approach them at the counter table.
“That is because I wanted to hear your opinion.” He nonchalantly answered to me as I grinned and looked at Luke.
“Of course, I believe him. Why would I not be?” I answered and copying Luke’s words from earlier. He smirked at me and put his hand on my waist.
“Twin, remember, we are going to a funeral and not to your date. We better hurry.” Ris entered the scene and reminded me those things.
I nodded at her and looked on everyone.
“We have to go. This might not be a great time to get together but I appreciate your effort on being here.” I said to everyone.
“Do not talk like you had become the leader and you are not the one who keeps on offering someone for a play at the arcade.” Brett said to me as I plainly glared at him and he held his hand in front of his chest, as his sign of surrendering.
I walked ahead before them, I went to the garage as I saw dad’s car. I already have my license so I guess this would be the right for me to take the use of it.
“Drive ahead, we will follow you in a minute.” Luke said to me as I nodded, Ris get in to the passenger’s seat as I get in to the driver’s seat.
“Remember dad’s words.” Ris reminded as I nodded.
“Eyes on the road and mind on the future.” I mumbled as I started the key and drives away.
