(Lisanna)
I forced the two of them to leave, even though the conversation made between us was not yet done. Well, in the first place, I do not have anything to say more. I have heard enough and I have to do some more thinking about it, I am currently sitting on the couch here in the living room and staring at Risanna moving around the things we got and packed in here. She keeps on pacing around, opening up boxes and checking what was inside of it, I am not saying anything to her. I just let her do her thing and I just wanted to get some rest, nothing else. I let out a deep sigh as I saw her dragging a huge box in front of her and she wanted it to take upstairs.
"That is too heavy to be carried alone." I said to her and she scoffed.
"Yeah, that would not be a problem if you did not shoo them away." she answered to me as I saw her getting on the first step of the stairs.
""What do you want me to do?" I asked to her and she finally stopped as she stood by the railings while a bit of panting heavily.
"Nothing, just enjoy your sweet rest and I could take this on my own." she arrogantly answered as she began dragging the box once again. I did not take any more moment to answer her back. I grabbed my cup of coffee on the table in front of me and sipped a little bit. I turned on the television and the news went on immediately.
It was us, our family was on the news and they were reporting that our parents were dead. I slowly sat straight as I watched the reporter go on with her report. How did they know about this? And in the first place, how did a reporter get in the house without our permission? And another thing, why are they telling that it was a robbery case when it should have been a murder one? They were also saying that it was a dead of a couple alone, that they do not have any children, that they were really living alone in that place. I scoffed in disbelief when I finished the whole news, they do not even say the names of our parents, even the exact place where they were found dead.
I quickly grabbed my phone beside me as I immediately called Mr. Locke, in which he answered in just a few rings.
"What was that?" I asked as soon as he answered the call.
"What do you mean what was that?" he innocently asked as I wetted my lips and went on the another way.
"I just saw my family being reported on the television, should I feel happy about it know that we went on TV?" I exclaimed and I let him let out a deep sigh.
"We need that, we need the people to believe that you are an ordinary family, just a person mourning for her parents." he answered and I nodded.
"And, why are not included in the report?" I asked for the last time and I heard nothing but a silent line.
"Because we cannot risk your identity, if they knew that they have the Kings' new generation, you could be killed." he answered to me as I scoffed.
"Then, tell me, who are you calling 'they'?" I asked and the line suddenly went off. I looked on the screen and he just hanged up on me, how dare he?
I put the phone down as I looked once again at the television. It was now flashing a different news, so I quickly turned it off.
"What happened?" I heard Ris asked and she was standing by the balcony at the second floor, I looked upwards as I stared on her for a few seconds.
"We just became orphaned, just as simple as that." I answered and she scoffed, even though she cannot understand what I was saying.
"Come on, sister. I was wrong, I cannot fix everything on my own." she said with a small smile, I scoffed and put down my cup and moved along.
I ran upstairs as I followed her to the room where she was walking towards. She stood by the door, and put her hand upwards, like she was posing in front of me, letting me in the room she wanted to show me from the beginning. I did what she expected me to do, I walked and entered the room as I stopped and gasped at what the room looked like. It was not a gasp out of amusement or something, it was a gasp out of disbelief, at this thing. The room was full of things scattered everywhere, the clothes we got, the decorations for our room and even the little things we took from the other house.
"What in the hell happened in here?" I exclaimed as I heard her chuckles.
Well, things happened and I cannot say every little details of that." she answered.
"I will not help you with this." I firmly said to her, and she began hr tantrums.
"Lisanna! How could I sleep if the place would look like this?" she childishly asked to me and I slowly shook my head.
"Not this time, kid. You have to clean this on your own." I answered to her and slowly backing down. I went outside of the room, leave her alone even if I could still hear her shouting my name from there.
I entered my room and locked the door behind me. I looked on the things what was in front of me and there was a dozens of books laid beside my table. I picked one and sat at my swivel chair, opened it on page one as I read the passages I had written in here. These were all the records I got from the library in here, strangely enough, Luke got a secret library underground and it contains everything. When I say 'everything', I say that is the truth. I even saw some sample ledgers, some histories with timelines and pictures with it. Just who is Luke in the first place?
I pulled out a notebook and a pen, as I started scribbling on the paper. I am now drawing some organizational chart. From the leader, to the possible subordinates that he had. The gangs' parents, where could they possibly be in the whole scenario. I am just listing every ideas I got from this moment, and now I am down with Luke and Asley. As I think through it, repeatedly, the two of them do have a different ideas from the get go. Luke wanted me to stop, he wants me to have my own life and not to be involve with this kingmaker thingy. And on the other side of the story, Asley wanted me to do it either way. He keeps on pushing me to be the leader, he keeps on pushing me to get the position even though I am still undecided about it. I might be talking big, I might be saying words that I am ready for this, that I can do this whenever I wanted- but I cannot. As I keep on thinking through it, I still cannot find the right answer to it. I still cannot say if I am on the right side of the line, I just wanted to get the justice for them, I just wanted to give without any guilt floating around my head, I just wanted to feel safe and far from my own judgment.
I understand, I do now. I filled the whole page with all of my ideas as I am now down at the end of the line.
'Be the Kingmaker'. That was the only quote I have ever thought of and tomorrow would be a new day for me. Mr. Locke said in the note that he left me early that day. Teachers will be coming to this house starting tomorrow. Some will teach us for etiquette, even if I know in myself that I have one. Some will be from the campus as, for the next six months in the making, I cannot get out of this house without mastering the whole scenario I will be playing. There also some teachers who will teach me all of the things I do not know about, and by that, that means that the history of this whole organization buried under and behind the naked eye. That person will be Luke's father, which means that he will always be visiting and will continue to bothering my life this whole time. But, thinking through it, it could be a better idea because I just cannot live quietly living with my twin only. I think I would become crazy before I could even know it. I need people to play around with me. And even if I still cannot understand why Luke wanted me to give up on everything, he is enough to fill the gap and feeling of being alone.
I heard my phone ring as I looked on the screen, checking who was calling me at that late time- it was Luke. Why am I not surprised by it?
"Hello?" I said upon answering the call.
"I am sorry." he suddenly said.
"Huh? Why are you being sorry?" I asked to him in a very confused manner.
"I should not have say anything like that to you." he answered and that made me smile. I put the pen down as I stood up, walked towards the bed.
"And what is that exactly?" I asked, trying to tease him down.
"You know it, those things that you heard earlier." he answered and I kept on controlling my own laugh, keeping it from bursting so I could still sound serious while talking to him.
"Yeah? You do not have to be sorry, I understand." I said as I was already laughing without making any sound.
"Really? But why are you laughing?" he asked to me.
"What? That is because-- wait, how did you know that?" I exclaimed as I quickly looked around, checking for any cameras in my room.
"Look to the right." he said as I quickly followed him.
"Can you let me in?" he asked as I saw him standing and staring from the veranda while on the phone with me.
