"Mrs. Parker, rest assured, your husband is fine. He's on his way back and will be here soon," explained a member of the Thunderbolt Squad standing nearby.
However, Olivia didn't hear the end of this sentence before she fell unconscious again.
Tears began to well up in everyone's eyes. 'Even on the brink of death, Olivia is thinking about her daughter and her husband Jonathan, whom she hadn't seen in five years.'
The lead doctor wiped away his tears and immediately started the surgery.
The operating room lights shone for over ten hours, and the night passed.
The bullet hadn't hit any vital organs, and with timely treatment, Olivia's life was saved.
But Ruby...
The doctor sighed and shook his head. He pondered how to break the news to Olivia.
'Jonathan and Olivia's challenges are far from over.'

Olivia jolted up from the bed.
She lifted the blanket in panic and ran out of the room barefoot, anxiously shouting, "Ruby! Ruby! Where are you?"
"Mrs. Parker, please calm down. Your wounds haven't healed yet, and moving like this will reopen them. Your daughter is fine. She's in the next room," the lead doctor said.
Hearing this, Olivia rushed into Ruby's room, and upon seeing her daughter, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. She tiptoed to the bedside, her eyes red. She leaned close to Ruby's small head and rubbed her own forehead against Ruby's affectionately.
"Mommy, I'm fine. I think I saw Daddy," Ruby said with a weak smile and stretched out her frail arms.
Olivia caressed Ruby's forehead. "Ruby, you're awake. You scared me so much. I thought I'd never see you again. Does it still hurt?"
Ruby nodded weakly, sobbed, and looked into the distance blankly. "Mommy, don't cry. I'm fine. It doesn't hurt. I'm crying because I can't see Daddy. Can you tell him not to leave me alone? I miss him so much."
"Daddy will be back soon. Be good and sleep for a while. You'll see him when you wake up." Olivia comforted Ruby, though deep down, she was also worried about Jonathan.
"Okay, I'll sleep. I want to see Daddy." Ruby nodded, closed her eyes, and gradually fell asleep.
Olivia left the room, and the lead doctor approached with a grave expression. "Mrs. Parker, there's something I must tell you. Although Ruby's surgery was a success, the car accident caused head trauma and increased intracranial pressure. It has likely compressed her optic nerve. She might become permanently blind."
Olivia's heart sank. Tears welled up again. "Doctor, can you do something about it?"
The doctor sighed. "We'll do our best, but... there is no standardized treatment protocol in the medical field for nerve damage. However, there is a new type of stem cell therapy drug..."
"Tell me the cost. I'll pay anything." Olivia interrupted the doctor. She was willing to do anything for Ruby.
"It's not about the money." The doctor shook his head. "The patent is currently controlled by the Roberts family. They use it as a tool for profiteering."
'The Roberts family again!' Olivia bit her lip and burst into tears.
Soon she changed her clothes and approached the gate.
"Mrs. Parker, you need to rest. Where are you going?" A member of the Thunderbolt Squad on duty at the door caught up with her.
Olivia ignored him and insisted on leaving the villa. "Don't follow me. I need to go somewhere. I'll be right back. If Jonathan returns, tell him I love him. Ask him to take care of our daughter."
With that, Olivia dragged her legs to the gate and hailed a cab. She told the driver, "Please take me to the Harrison Villa on Green Street."
She was very clear about what kind of opponent she and Jonathan were facing.
The Roberts family controlled half the gang power in Yonderville. Jonathan couldn't possibly be a match for them.
Even if he could survive, there would certainly be great trouble ahead.
To rescue Jonathan and treat Ruby's eyes, she could only turn to the Harrison family.
However, after five years, Olivia felt conflicted and fearful.
Since she had a child with Jonathan, she was kicked out by the Harrison family and never returned. She had no idea how her family would treat her now.
As the cab sped through the streets, Olivia stared out the window, lost in thought.

About ten minutes after Olivia left, Jonathan finally arrived at the villa. He immediately started searching for her. "Olivia, I'm back!"
He couldn't wait to see Olivia. Her safety was his top priority now.
"General, Mrs. Parker isn't here," the soldier reported promptly.
Jonathan's face darkened. "Not here? Where did she go? Why didn't you stop her? She's severely injured. How could you let her leave?"
The soldier explained, "General, Mrs. Parker didn't let us follow. But our people have been tracking her. She went to the Harrison Villa."
"The Harrison Villa?" Jonathan took a deep breath. He understood that Olivia was trying to help him.
"Hurry! Take me to the Harrison Villa!" Jonathan remembered how the Harrison family had kicked Olivia out when she got pregnant.
Now, injured, she was in for more trouble at the Harrison Villa.
Meanwhile, Olivia got out of the cab. In front of her was the grand and luxurious Harrison Villa.
The villa stood five stories tall, surrounded by extensive gardens filled with lush greenery.
Olivia took a deep breath, stepped forward, and rang the doorbell. "Is anyone there?"
Soon, the door creaked open, and a stunning woman appeared. She was initially shocked upon seeing Olivia, and then her face was filled with arrogance and disdain.
"b***h, how dare you show up here?" Sophia Harrison crossed her arms, prepared to shove Olivia away. She was Olivia's cousin, but she looked at Olivia as if she were looking at trash.
"Sophia, I want to see Grandpa. I need his help." Olivia trembled with weakness. Her head felt dizzy, and the wounds in her shoulder and calf throbbed with pain, but she forced herself to stand firm.
Sophia sneered and shoved Olivia hard, right on her wounds.
The pain made Olivia collapse to the ground instantly.
Sophia said harshly, "If you hadn't insisted on having that little bastard, the Harrison family wouldn't have become a laughingstock in Yonderville. Now you need Grandpa's help! Fine, slap yourself. If I'm satisfied, I'll help you. Do it now."
Olivia, lying on the ground with red eyes, looked at Sophia with utter humiliation. But she clenched her teeth and didn't let herself make any sound of pain.
She slowly propped herself up from the ground and stood back up, retorting, "Why? It's not up to you whether Grandpa wants to see me or not."
