Upon hearing Ruby's words, Jonathan froze for a moment. He quickly composed himself and comforted Ruby. Then, he pulled Olivia out of the room and whispered, "Olivia, what's going on?"
"Ruby's optic nerve was damaged by the head trauma from the car accident, and she's gradually losing her sight. She might become permanently blind," Olivia said in a low voice. "The chances of recovery are slim. The doctors have been working around the clock to find a solution but to no avail. Our only hope is an experimental stem cell therapy drug, but it's controlled by the Roberts family for its enormous profit."
"The Roberts family again!" Jonathan's eyes instantly reddened with anger.
Hatred and murderous intent seemed to coalesce within his pupils and manifest into the likenesses of Michael and Elijah.
Enraged, Jonathan declared, "I'm going to the Roberts Villa now!"
"No, it's too dangerous!" Olivia protested. She also wanted to protect Ruby, but the Roberts family held absolute power in Yonderville and deep connections in politics, business, and the military. Jonathan was merely a common soldier with a few good friends in the military. He was no match for the Roberts family.
They had offended Michael, and it was a stroke of luck that Jonathan had escaped. If he confronted the Roberts family once more, it would undoubtedly put him in danger.
Olivia was beyond worried.
"We're running out of time. If we keep delaying, Ruby will lose her chance at recovery," Jonathan interrupted Olivia. "I'll get the drug from the Roberts family. They'll pay for what they've done to you and Ruby!"
Jonathan tried to suppress his rage, but his legs shook uncontrollably. He gripped Olivia's hand, returned to the room, and gently stroked Ruby's head. "Don't be afraid, Ruby. Mommy and Daddy are here. Just rest and listen to the doctors. You'll be able to see us again soon."
"Okay, I'll be good," Ruby nodded with a heartbreaking smile.
Jonathan pushed the door open and stepped out.
The appointed time finally arrived. Today marked the life-and-death battle between Jonathan and the Roberts family. It would be Michael and Elijah's end. Whether they were the masterminds in the spotlight, the hidden puppeteers, leaders, or minions, Jonathan was determined to obliterate the Roberts family and avenge Ruby.
The sound of synchronized military boots echoed behind him. Jonathan turned to see the Thunderbolt Squad approaching.
A soldier snapped to attention, saluted, and reported, "General, everything is ready. We can depart now!"
A glint of steely determination flashed in Jonathan's eyes.
The army was poised to march. The storm was coming. The Roberts family would be reduced to ashes in the fires of vengeance.
"Good!" Jonathan nodded and reassured his wife and daughter before leaving the villa.
At that moment, he was like a waking beast, exuding an unimaginable aura.
Outside the villa, everything was prepared. A convoy was ready to depart. In the leading jeep of the convoy, Michael, covered in blood, was tied up. Over the past few days, he had been through hell. Now he could no longer scream.
"Move out!" commanded Jonathan.
The jeeps roared to life and headed straight for the Roberts Villa.
Jonathan gritted his teeth. 'Roberts family, I'm coming. Are you ready to face death?'
At the same time, Navy Secret Special Forces were fully armed and marching toward the Roberts Villa. Thousands of soldiers formed an endless greenish-black sea of military uniforms. This was Novaria's invincible army!
Their presence was overwhelming, challenging anyone who dared to stand in their way. A major upheaval was about to unfold in Yonderville.
"Enter the city!" Suddenly, thousands of soldiers received the order and marched onto Yonderville's streets.
The ground trembled. The mountains seemed to collapse. Like a tsunami, they swept through everything.
Yonderville was sealed off. The streets emptied, and the subway stopped. The airport was closed as well.
Navy Secret Special Forces flooded into Yonderville at an astonishing speed and filled the main roads in no time. Their movements were uniform and swift.
Although the citizens had been notified of the military exercise and stayed home, they were still shocked by the sight.
Countless citizens peeked out and witnessed the grandeur and imposing presence of the troops.
It seemed as if the ground trembled with each step of the soldiers.
At the same time, the core members of the Roberts family gathered in the opulent hall of the Roberts Villa.
Vincent stood at the highest point. He surveyed the crowd with the air of an officer inspecting his troops.
Today, he was particularly well-dressed in a refined suit, but at his chest, he wore a striking, blood-red tie.
Boom! The sky rumbled, and rain began to pour.
The Roberts Villa was shrouded in the curtain of rain. It appeared from afar as if veiled in mist.
It was time for the life-and-death battle between Jonathan and the Roberts family.
"Now that everyone is here," Vincent began with a sly smirk, "do you think Jonathan has the gall to show up today?"
"Heh, he's nothing but trash from the Parker family. If he shows up, he's sure to die here!" someone jeered.
"That's right. With the status and power of the Roberts family in Yonderville, who could seriously think they can stand against us?"
"Today, we'll tear that bastard to pieces to avenge Mr. Michael Roberts!"
"Let's hang Jonathan's corpse at the entrance of the Roberts Villa. Those who scheme against us will see the consequences of crossing us!"
Their voices echoed through the sky.
Vincent nodded. "Today, we'll use Jonathan's blood to remind the other forces and families in Yonderville that the Roberts family remains the supreme power. No one can challenge us!"
