Chapter 55

"What? Yes, sir!" The captain's expression shifted dramatically. After hanging up the phone, he kept his fearful eyes on Jonathan. Mark gave a sycophantic grin. "Sir, you can't let this guy off so easily. He should be harshly punished. Arrest them and sentence them to death." Smack! The captain turned and slapped Mark hard across the face. "Shut your mouth, you i***t! Mr. Parker holds special invitations. They're far more prestigious than the one you have." Everyone present was stunned. 'What? Special invitations? We've never heard of that!' Mark, bewildered, stared at the captain in disbelief and shook his head. "Impossible! Sir, you must be mistaken. He's just a regular veteran. How could he have special invitations? That's absolutely impossible!" Bang! The captain kicked Mark and sent him flying. Mark hit the ground hard. The captain drew his gun without hesitation, pointed it at Mark's forehead, and said coldly, "I just received the order. Are you questioning me or Colonel Wellington?" "No! I was wrong. Please forgive me." Mark clutched his stomach and trembled in fear on the ground. After all, a gun was pointed at his head. The captain snorted and then walked over to Jonathan. He stood at attention and saluted. "Mr. Parker, there has been a misunderstanding. I sincerely apologize. Please, you and your family may enter." Jonathan nodded calmly, took Olivia's cold hand, and led her and Ruby past the stunned crowd towards the main venue. "We have special invitations too!" Sally, holding her invitation card, couldn't hide her excitement. Just moments ago, she was worried she would be involved, and now she was one of the most honored guests at the event. Chad quickly got up from the ground and glared at the soldiers arrogantly. "See? I have a special invitation card. It's very prestigious. Step aside!" The other Harrison family members also clamored to get in. They were eager to see the main event and possibly meet Elliott or the five-star general. The captain could only let them in. But Jonathan suddenly halted and turned to the noisy Harrison family. "Didn't you just say these invitations were fake and had nothing to do with you? Sir, please confiscate their invitations." With that, Jonathan led Olivia and Ruby into the main venue. The Harrison family members holding special invitations were dumbfounded. The soldiers at the entrance blocked them with guns. The captain understood that Jonathan was a high-ranking official. He responded coldly, "Confiscate their invitations and kick them out." "Hey! You can't do this! These are special invitations." "Jonathan, come back here!" "Sir, this is a special invitation card. Kicking us out would be disrespectful to Colonel Wellington. I must go in." Sally, who was determined not to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Colonel Elliott Wellington and the five-star general, charged in when no one noticed. Seeing this, the other Harrison family members followed suit. The captain considered sending someone after them but decided against it. These were indeed special invitations, and he had no other orders from Elliott. What if he was wrong again? Mark was the last to enter the main venue. The banquet soon started officially. Everyone seized the opportunity to mingle, aiming for greater benefits. At that moment, a figure in military uniform, tall and commanding, emerged from the backstage to the podium. "It's Colonel Wellington!" "True to his reputation as a senior military officer in Yonderville! His aura is unparalleled." "Colonel Wellington is barely in his thirties. He's destined to become an extraordinary general." Upon seeing him, everyone present saluted immediately. Elliott returned the salute, grabbed a glass of champagne, and spoke loudly, "I'm delighted that everyone could join me for this special event. After tonight, we will all be working together. Here's to your bright future and success. Cheers!" Everyone raised their glasses and delivered compliments. Elliott smiled and glanced at Jonathan, who was with Ruby and Olivia in a corner. He then announced loudly, "As you all know, tonight we have a special guest." Wow! The crowd buzzed with excitement. All eyes were fixed on the stage. They were eager to see the youngest five-star general in Novaria. "So now, let's give a warm welcome to our five-star general," Elliott said enthusiastically. "And guess what? He's already among us. He is..."
